I'm only 5 hours into Elden Ring but Bloodborne seems better so far.

The combat in BB is way better to me with the fact each weapon has 2 forms and the whole gun factor for stunning enemies.

Also little things like having pebbles to throw to try and bait mobs apart. It is nice having a jump in Elden Ring though.

Playing as a Bandit in Elden Ring now , just trying to grind a little at the start and get some leveling up . The combat seems a bit boring but hopefully that will change with better weapon and more understanding of the games system.

Completed both and spent over 200 hours on each game, Bloodborne without question is still the better game in my opinion, I like the environment, story, music and gameplay better.

Bloodborne for me. This second playthrough has really solidified that. I find it to be the most focused, and approachable game out of the whole bunch, and dare I say...the easiest From game Ive played? The whole focus on offense and aggression just speaks to me. Yes the world is interconnected and large but it isnt like looking at a plate of spaghetti with dozens and dozens of linking and crisscrossing paths. I find it extremely easy to know your way around and plot the Yharnam map out in your head. But that's me.

Ive gone with the Hunters Axe and the Lone Survivor class focusing mostly on Vitality, Strength and Endurance.

For 2015 I think it's still so gorgeous. Art style is everything.

It is gorgeous. Every roof tile, every stonework and every brick is separate 3d model. None of this flat texturing shit.
The game got amazing detail.
I am 100% telling everyone. This game just needs 4k. Don't even disable chromatic abberration. It adds some mistic flavor to the game and 4k would make it much much less.

And I dont know if its the PS5 or the amount of patches it got but it only takes around 10 seconds to load into anywhere as opposed to what, the full minute or so it took back in the day?

Its been a overall smooth experience with the framerate too despite not being 60. No issues here.

Id kill for a 4K upgrade at the very least but I dunno man, seems like the chances get bleaker every year.

Maybe a PS6 launch title? :messenger_grinning_smiling:

It's one of more responsive 30fps games. In fact, I would value 4k patch more than 60fps patch :P but of course both is a no brainer.
As for the game... I always played goty edition but I just recently got "hits" edition and I am thinking about playing the game unpatched 1.0... just to see how raw it is!

I totally agree. I went back to the now locked OT and saw a bunch of people complaining about it. For one I dont think its overdone at all and I also think it adds to the overall style. The "mystic flavor" is a great way to put it. I dont find it detracting from the visuals at all.

rofif rofif I never played The Old Hunters either because I was too much of a pussy after hearing how hard it was.

This time though Im definitely going to get it. No fear here! Im gonna see if I can knock that out before I get to the end game.

Elden Ring got the same chromatic abberation going on. it's just so much more subtle at 4k and they probably tweaked it.
but imo, these "widely hated" effects remove the gamey surface look.

As for back to the game - cmon now. Can elden ring do this with the blood splatter(my shots) ?!?!?!

I found Bloodborne to be a much tighter and more interestingly designed experience. From Software are best when they're not open-world, imho.

Please make a new King's Field...

Best bosses In Bloodborne are in the DLC, definitely do it.

Bloodborne is better obviously, though with its absolutely terrible IQ and even more terrible framerate I find it unplayable nowadays.

Bloodborne for me all day long. Beat it several times and it never got old for me. Nothing compares to the atmosphere and the world they crafted. I still jump back in from time to time just to enjoy the masterpiece it truly is and the feeling it gives when playing it.

rofif rofif check these moments

Logarius gets so pissed at that final 1/4 of health 😂 My jerky nerves almost got me

hey that's pretty clean! and logarius with these many vials left?! Yeah you can do dlc.
I have a confession. BB is the only souls I finished only once. I absolutely loved it but I still remember everything. But it might be time

I am no sure I would personally replay the dlc since I rarely like to replay souls dlc. I usually just replay the main game since dlc is often annoyingly hard.
But Ludwig is the best boss in bloodborne. The music alone!

Confession: Ive never played ANY From/Souls DLC so this will be my first.

Like you I always avoided them because of how hard they were supposed to be lol

Is it true that the code or whatever is a complete mess and that's why they've never bothered to upgrade it? Like it's just too much of headache to even bother :messenger_pensive:

Dont know but the game is playable @ 60fps.

just got done playing elden ring.

bloodborne demolishes it.
elden ring is like some crappy knock-off in comparison.
feels like a downgrade in basically every way except for size.

(still enjoyed my time with elden ring though... for the most part)

February 2022 I would have said Elden Ring, hands down.

Now? Bloodborne, hands down.

Elden Ring feels like a theme park, whereas Bloodborne feels like a work of art.

Don't get me wrong--I LOVED Elden Ring. But it didn't stick with me at all when I was done with it. It is quite generic in comparison to Bloodborne. Bloodborne is the most atmospheric game of all time.

Bloodborne is the epitome of Soulsborne games and imo the best Gen 8 game with God of War.
Elden Ring is also a masterpiece but Bloodborne is much more focused and the setting, level design, enemy designs, etc. are just so damn good.

both are great...

bloodborne is more interesting in more aspects than just the gameplay.

elden ring is a little too up it's own arse in terms of its story, and personally the world while massive and varied, isn't as interesting to me

Elden Ring, Bloodbourne is great but its the worst of the Souls like Fromsoft games that Ive beaten, for several mostly minor reasons. (Havent played DS3 or Sekiro yet tho).

I'll never forget journeying into the Forbidden Woods and seeing stuff come out of nowhere. I'm divided. I got the Platinum trophy for both games.

Bloodborne from beginning to end is probably the best game I have ever played. Every section of that game is phenomenal. Pretty much every other souls game, and especially Elden Ring, I feel burned out by the end. Elden Ring is still incredible but it probably should have ended after Leyndell. It didn't help that the weakest sections of ER are in the last 1/4th of the game, and by that time, I was already tired of the grind

I love both games, but it's Bloodborne for me. Echoing others here, it's just a tighter, more focused, and ultimately more satisfying experience than Elden Ring, which is a stone cold classic in its own right.
