Let's be honest here, taking ambiguous shots every now and then is not the same as going straight to the roots of the issue, tackled in a fucking cypher. YG did good with FDT, but he lacks the reach, and lyrical prowess, of somebody like Eminem.
are you saying that kendrick doesn't get to the root of issues with his music and albums?
shouts to the olbermans here in OT that don't fuck with the genre outside of him though
Not straight shots, with name dropping and everything, aimed towards Trump. Fans had to speculate there was some secret message (because they want it) on his last album, when there really wasn't.
Don't know why I couldn't parse that. Makes sense though.
And the moving of goalposts begins.
Does he think Fox News is gonna go easy on Eminem? I mean of course it's inherently more dangerous for a black performer to put themselves out there like that, especially a pop artist like Beyonce, but making an album like TPAB certainly didn't hurt Kendrick's career. The guy that just released The Blacker the Berry was performing on Ellen and the focus of ESPN's NBA advertising.
Even more than Eminem being white, I think he is just the right person to do this because there is nothing right wing media can say about him that they haven't before. Being attacked by the news is old hat for Eminem.
This is the funniest shit I've heard.
Did you read the other tweets where he listed examples of how black people used platforms and it was met with loud backlash? He's not saying Em shouldn't have done this, he's highlighting how the perception of this would be entirely different.
this is important because most of his fans are alt right
I don't understand what you and CraigSJ (who I'm totally unfamiliar with, so maybe that explains why I'm not grasping this) are getting at. The examples given are Kendrick and Beyoncé, who left the performances cited more popular and revered than ever. Yeah, there was a loud backlash from the right wing (to Beyoncé, at least), but it was ultimately inconsequential outside of raising their profiles. The same thing will happen here. What's the "entirely different perception" you're referring to?
dude ain't in my top 10, but this was solid

The perception of who? Right-wing media? Of course they will be mad about it, as they are with last night. The point that doesn't quite make sense is that Eminem can do it because he can't lose anything because he is white. I'd say it's more that Eminem can't lose anything by pissing off conservatives because he is Eminem, it is old territory. Let Justin Timberlake or Taylor Swift try to say anything half as hard as this and watch their star take a beating.Did you read the other tweets where he listed examples of how black people used platforms and it was met with loud backlash? You mean since the final lines of Can't Knock The Hustle and 22 Two's?Jay has been pro Black empowerment in his music since at least 2012. Kendrick literally dropped "Black Existential Crisis: The Album", a few years ago.
In general Black people understand Trump is a symptom of a larger problem. Going after Trump, the man, isn't pressing for Black socially conscious rappers. He's low hanging fruit in the grand scheme of things since we've always had bigger fish to fry. When Trump leaves office, the institutional monsters that hold us back will still be there. White supremacy, racism etc... have been called out since rap's inception.
this is important because most of his fans are alt right
Most of his fans aren't even American, my friend. Just using statistics. Every boy in my school was listening to him when I was 11 in friggin Mumbai, Indiathis is important because most of his fans are alt right

I'm not moving any goalposts. Let's not act like the majority of his material for the last decade and a half hasn't been him rapping about awful bullshit in dumb accents. Even his 'comeback' albums are riddled with dumb juvenilia.
It's just corny to me that something this easy, now, gets so much attention, yet no one gives a shit when YG put out a song called "Fuck Donald Trump" or Waka Flocka literally wipes his ass with a fratboys MAGA hat. Eminem takes aim at Trump for a few minutes, at the least risky time to do so, and people lose their shit. I remember this exact same thing happening when he came out with the Mosh video; grips of people tripping over themselves to praise him saying shit like "I haven't really listened to rap before cuz I don't like the guns and the drugs but this stuff is great!"
Em goes HAM on Trump and those on the internet that usually hate on Em, show love for the anti-right message. Then there are those on social media that claim they are now anti Eminem. Both stances seem disingenuous imo. But what do we expect in 2017?
Eminem has fallen off in recent years, which pisses me off because his schemes and delivery have been underrated for many years now. All it takes is anti Trump speech for some to respect him, while others are now hating for rediculous reasons. If this is what it takes for the man to get the exposure he deserves, then whatever. But hes been rapping and writing circles around mainstream hip hop for too long. Now hes better at current events shit than the rappers that are poppin. Thanks Trump???
Cole, Kendrick, Jay or somebody should have come this hard at Trump by now. Why is Eminem the one fighting against the racial injustices in the U.S. among hip hop artists? Migos, Yatchy, Uzi??? Anyone???
Some people predicting trump will tweet hate at BET rather than eminem.
I wouldnt be surprised.
Oh please. Eminem gets political for thirty seconds and everyone's acting like he hasn't sucked for two decades.
Eminems latest freestyle denigrates native Americans (tomahawk and Apaches), trans (no balls), and women (bitches).
Liberals must disavow.

I mean to be Fair, he did say that if you're a fan of Trump and his, either make a decision towards Em or 'fuck You.'All those alt-right "free speech!" Eminem fans are already turning on him.
Apparently shitting on Trump for four minutes is too much for them.
Uh, you might want to do the math on "two decades." Because it doesn't seem to be good.

Why is Eminem always wearing those duck running shoes now
SSEP was the last thing he did I liked. 17 years since he's had an album worth anyone's time 🤷
Em has Trump legit shook. He would have replied years ago if it was somebody else.
That Mike Dice dude shouldn't have even bothered. Yeesh.
Edit: Also that's incredibly fucking rich for Cernovich to suddenly care about all those minorities. Dude can get fucked by a fence post.

I've been wondering if he will reply. Makes me happy how much it probably upset him.
