For a movie website/magazine, their gaming coverage is usually pretty good. It's READER voted so direct your abuse and accusations of 'garbage list' at randomers on the internet. There's a detailed write up for each entry as well.

There's plenty to disagree with sure, but I would imagine if any large mainstream website ran a poll, the list would be pretty similar. Regardless of the order, the list is certainly well put together and worth a read at least.

Most of the other games don't really stand out to me (I liked Mass Effect 2 over 1) as being problematic; seems like a pretty bog-standard list from gamers who started gaming about ten years ago, putz a bit with the classics and embraced the AAA.

I do think that if you're going to produce a list of this nature, it's probably smartest to exclude games from the last two years or so, simply by virtue of the fact that newness can cloud a dispassionate appraisal of where certain games fit into the history of the medium.
