Everybody's Gone to the Rapture |OT| A Cosy Catastrophe

After 5 Minutes I can say that it looks good, sounds good, "feels" good (=atmoshere). But this is one for the Ps4 Jetmode again.

Nooo I missed it. I cant preorder and now I wont get that theme

My stupid hesitation

Only the music in the theme is good, nothing to miss.

Huh, I didn't even find this, but I went in that building. Gonna have to go back tomorrow I guess.

Edit: Ahhhh, I guess I missed some story events. Thought for sure I went everywhere.

It wont show up there until after you unlock other events.

Church bell ringing means you should go back to the church

I hope this does well. I think it's a clever move to release it not long after The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter because those still hungry for another experience that's in the same genre will have had that opportunity.

So I
think I just finished "Jeremy"
? And now
Wendy just started
.

Did anyone figure out
what Father Jeremy had done to earn the contempt of some of the towns people
?

Just got through the train section of "Wendy". I would recommend that everyone play the game with subtitles on, just so you know who is speaking most of the time....since there are no character models you'll either need subtitles or a perfect audio-memory to follow things.

I think I'm done for the night. Or maybe just done. The slow movement speed and the drip-feed of story content are like pulling teeth. It wouldn't be quite as tedious if the game weren't so full of locked doors and dead ends. I may be done trying to figure out what's going on in the story -- or at least all the weird interpersonal relationships and gossipy nature of the townsfolk. The "impending apocalypse" parts are actually more straightforward than I thought they'd be.

Really enjoying it so far, but man I wish they put a run button on this thing. Exploring ever far off corner and backtracking to make sure I didn't miss anything is painfully slow.

Edit: Just saw the mentions of R2 on the previous page. I tried R2 and every other button but didn't notice any difference. I'll have to try that more extensively tomorrow.

Just did 3 hours of gameplay on twitch. This game is gorgeous beyond belief and the music, I could listen to the OST all day.

After an hour, this is just utterly convincing. I feel like I just used VR without goggles, basically. I can imagine playing this in Morpheus would really give you the sensation of actually being somewhere else, instead of just in a game environment.

game is both beautiful and unnerving at the same time. I'm completely caught up in how the story is unfolding. I did fall through the world once though. it was hilarious.

Ugh, sounds like they kept their trademarked "locked doors" from A Machine for Pigs, that was one of the most obvious glaring downgrades from Frictional's original game. The arbitrary blockers of progression without logical reason.

Glad to hear the music is great though as Jessica Curry really is amazing.

Not sure if this is the thread to ask, but do we know anything new about the promised PS+ deal on the EU store?

I've just been having a look around but haven't seen anything, unfortunately. Really wanted to play this today but if it's supposed to have a 20% discount like the page says it does, I'd rather wait.

hmm, the discount is mentioned in the game description, but not reflected in the price. i went through the order process up until the final "place order", but price stays at 19,99€.

game's gorgeous with a cool story so far

complete lack of AA unless you're moving yourself or the camera is unfortunate, framerate is pretty badt when there's a bunch of those particles happening

Buckled and bought this before going to work. Knowing my luck it'll end up on PS + in a month or so. Still, always happy to give money to a British developer.

It's out in the EU store but for some reason NOT on the front page. Only way to access it is through search. WTF Sony Europe.

Downloading now, nice theme that comes with it. The game is hidden away under New Releases/New This Week part on the website (3rd page).

Just finished the game, unlocked most of the storys. (I missed one or two.)

And I still don't understand what I just played. I understood maybe a part of the story, is this one of those games with a story up to interpretation?

streamers thinking im trolling them by telling them r2 makes you walk a little faster. i guess i can't blame them. it takes so long to kick in it seems like there is barely any change

Just how long is "so long"? just so I know ahead of my play-through tonight, thanks.

How the hell did I miss this one? Just watched the launch trailer.

That music is B-E-A-UTIFUL!

Gonna be playing this tonight for sure!

streamers crack me up.

you're supposed to be paying attention to the world and not what people are saying to you in the chat. which is kind of the opposite of what most streamers do (THANK YOU FOR THE FOLLOW!) smh

Alright bought it, looking forward to play it later today, leaving this thread lol.

I can understand why they didn't include running to maintain atmosphere, but man they really need to up the walk speed.

I think so. Towards the end, it seemed pretty straightforward what happened until the very final section of the game. It's also very open to interpretation who exactly you are playing as.

Ending questions:
Why did Stephen go to the bunker to avoid the nerve toxin if he knew everyone had to die to try to stop the entity from spreading? Did Kate merge with the entity and then did something with Tower 7 which allowed for the entity to spread throughout the earth killing everyone? Thanks Kate! Well everyone might not be dead per se, but just merged with the light/evolved to a higher state of being? Are the only remnants of humanity now left on Earth the light after images in the deserted cities, etc?
