And you honestly think they won't bring at least a dozen for Smash 4 alone.
Oh deary me.
How many people would you expect to participate in a Pokken tournament for "a dozen" Wii Us to be feasible?

Will they pay for the TVs as well? Will they do the whole extra wiring? The extra space in the venue so it can accomodate more setups? And you honestly think they won't bring at least a dozen for Smash 4 alone.

SF5 and SF4? I can understand the two flavours of smash cos Smash is serious business but i'd have thought people would jump ship to SF5.
Lemme see if i can count it on my fingers... um, six?How many people would you expect to participate in a Pokken tournament for "a dozen" Wii Us to be feasible?
Crossing my fingers for JoJo Bizarre Adventure: ASB!
At least with Smash 4 you only need 1 set-up. Of course, if Nintendo/Bandai Namco/The Pokémon Company foots the bill, this won't be an issue. But that's an if.And you honestly think they won't bring at least a dozen for Smash 4 alone.

If it's USFIV then I doubt many would enter, when the big money is at V.
It's the game they are still playing right now, most players will just enter both before moving on to 5 next year.If it's USFIV then I doubt many would enter, when the big money is at V.
Rising Thunder is still in alphaNo Rise of the Robots?
Na. If it's there, a ton of people will enter, since at that point it's just incrementally slightly more money for the contestant and they know the game, so why not?
My guesses are...
- Street Fighter V
- Ultra Street Fighter IV
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-
- Mortal Kombat X
- Killer Instinct
- Tekken 7
Online multi only, I'd wager, considering the game and camera systems. EDIT: Explained above, though I didn't know you could play by LAN on Wii U. That's some late 90s shit going there.
Still, if you honestly think Nintendo is too cheap to stump up two WiiUs to bring Pokken Tournament to EVO, never mind the dozen they'll probably bring, and miss out on the biggest opportunity to sell the game to a larger and more ardent potential fanbase, well, sir, i don't know what to tell you.
I knew I should have kept the Kappa on that post. It's a joke.

There's Local LAN. But again, you need 2 Wii Us.
Pokkén Tournament uses Local LAN for multiplayer in order to run multiplayer at 60fps. Doing multiplayer on one Wii U requires the GamePad & cuts the framerate in half.
Wow. Whoever thought that was a good idea must not understand the market.

.I still think Pokken making their presence at EVO somehow.
Expecting salt over 2 smashes again.
I'll be shocked if USFIV makes it, but it could be the official farewell EVO for the game on the main stage.
2 Smashes is fine, if we get 2 SFs.
I doubt Pokken will make it simply because it needs to have a more established player base and community. It plays differently than the traditional fighting games. Maybe a promotion or just a side thing for players there to try out is more possible.
It's not because of the market. It's because of how the camera moves in the game.
Congratulations to Zero for winning Evo 2016!
Ctrl + F: "dong dong never die" = 0 results
I'm ashamed of all of you.
Yep. Smash 4 is pretty entertaining now, couldn't say the same during last evo.
The last smash tourney: genesis 3, ha fantastic matches
Honestly there's too many new games every year, this year especially, to give the limited spots to old games. They need to ditch Melee (which is a huge hassle anyways due to the CRTs and Gamecubes) and SFIV. Just stick to Smash 4 and Street Fighter V. Then there is more space to have stuff like both Guilty Gear and BlazBlue or something weird like Pokken.
Because if you have 2 Smash and 2 SF then that's already basically half the spots. And we know Tekken, Marvel, KOF, and MK are going to take 4 more.

I'm guessing this.
I honestly think they'll drop Marvel this year but I'm not sure on how many entrants they had last year and obviously it's still pretty sizeable in the US. Don't see Tekken being here and not confident at all that BB will be there but think it's more likely than the alternatives.
