What this feature will actually be:
If you are posting that your dad or dog died, it's a thumbs down instead of a thumbs up so that people too lazy to say "Sorry to hear" can click the button without worrying that it will look like they're glad you've suffered a loss.
What this feature will actually be:
Conservatives disliking Obama post.
Conservatives disliking pro-gay posts.
etc..
I find the phrasing for the button to be "in development" so funny and absurd, like the coding probably doesn't take too long and may even be done with just one person
Fuck it's bout time
I can finally be really passive aggressive on Facebook now
Yep, it's like this. There won't be a literal "Dislike" link. It'll be an image or option related to Like for those moments you want to acknowledge a post but Like seems callous or weird.I can't imagine it being named "dislike", but I can imagine something like a "sympathy" button for stuff like "my dog died", "I got stung by a bee", "I pooped myself when shopping" etc.
Why?doesn't seem like a good idea
pretty much.
corps and sponsor pages won't be too pleased about it either.
Reputation points. That's some revolutionary stuff. What will they come up with next?
Now I'd love that.

How are they going to control that?
Like if someone is posting something sad and you want to show empathy but clicking the like button makes it seems like your are happy that they are sad, so in that case a dislike button would be more appropriate?
People still use facebook?
They literally had over 1 billion people use it in one day recently. 1 in 7 people globally.People still use facebook?
They should call it an "oh dear" button or something.
"Refugees are dying" oh dear
"I'm really ill" oh dear
It sort of works.
It's weird how people think so little of designers. Like they haven't considered everything people have said in here.
hahaFinally, a way to interact with my family.
Finally, a way to interact with my family.
Well, we need to combat Facebook's culture of nice. This is going to be bad
Well I'm glad they're taking the development nice and slow. Seems like pretty complex stuff.
Hey, did you read the article?Well, we need to combat Facebook's culture of nice.
If people are willing to openly broadcast themselves to the world, they need to expect more than just everyone liking their shit.
