Character A befriends Character B. The two have to separate for some reason but promise to reunite later that day/tomorrow/sometime soon. Character A ends up getting into a battle with a new enemy and destroys it, not realizing said enemy was actually Character B (who was also unaware of who exactly they were fighting). Character A may or may not ever realize what happened to Character B.
