If trump wins Iowa it's game over. Everyone might as well drop out at that point.
I'm pretty amazed that Iowa seems so pivotal this year. Usually folks look at Iowa, shrug-off the results, and look forward immediately to New Hampshire as the "real" start of action.

This year, Iowa could produce two prohibitive favorites. Remarkable.

If it's Trump and Hillary declared victorious on Monday night, it'll be Hillary's best night since the 11-hour Bazinga hearing in October. She'll know she has inside track for the nomination, and that she'll likely have a really weak opponent for November.

I'm a Trump supporter because I want Bernie to win it all? Ok. I'm latino btw, I wouldn't be caught dead voting for Trump.

Ignoring the fact that a Bernie or any other democrat third party run is the best way to hand trump the white house, what goes into the logic that if Bernie can't win a primary with only democratic voters he would even stand any kind of chance to do anything but again hand trump the white house if he ran third party?

Look at Maine's last 2 gubernatorial elections and see what would happen if Bernie goes I and cannibalizes Democratic support.

No thanks, especially not with the presidency at stake. We can at least push Hillary to the left after the fact by staying vocal, active, and reminding these politicians that we exist. Game over if Trump or any of those other nutjobs become President.

it is remarkable, I've invited my friends to watch the results with me Monday night by telling them that it could be the only race that ultimately matters this primary season.

I'm hoping Bernie pulls out a win. There is a strong anti-establishment vibe this election. If its Trump vs Clinton I absolutely would not be surprised if Trump won.

If Bernie can't beat Clinton in the Primaries what makes you think he can beat Trump and Clinton in the GE.

Spoilers he can't. He'll just open the door for Trump. So yes wanting him to run independent is wanting the GOP to win.

I would be really surprised if Hillary does not win the general. Trump will be so easy to defeat, it won't even be a contest. Really sucks that Rand Paul is in the bottom of the polls, was really impressed by him in the last Fox debate.

I hope Bernie goes independant if he loses.
Stuff like this is why I hate the myth of voting for the 'ideologically pure' candidate. People get so focused on being able to vote for 'their guy' in the general that they don't give a fuck if it causes the person who opposes basically all of their ideals to win.

Christ, just stay home.

Has nate Silver admitted that he was wrong about Trump and that he looked like a clown?

Yeah, but he basically tried to damage control everything by saying the only reason Trump is going to win was because the GOP establishment didn't launch their "anti-Trump" campaign like he was expecting them too.

It also probably didn't help that Jeb! spent all $100 million of his PAC money to sink Rubio.
I live in Iowa and every other commercial on TV right now is an anti-Rubio attack ad from Right to Rise. >_>

I would. Clinton vs Trump or Sanders vs Trump would be a blowout. Unless someone runs and splits the dem vote. If anything, Sanders is more likely to loose, cause of the Socialist label and the greater chance of Bloomberg running.

Luckily unlike some crazy people want Bernie will concede and support Hilary if he loses because he knows the damage a republican loon will cause

Lol at O'malley, there is a bit of second hand embarrassment when he attends the debates.

4%. So Clinton and Sanders are basically tied.
I really wish people would stop saying this, that isn't how polls work.....

However yes, caucus polling is difficult and the results are volatile enough to not be able to predict the winner. If this was a primary state however, no, they would not be "tied".

I'm surprised the DNC let me continue to show up when his poll numbers never moved. I guess he was given comparatively less time as the debates went on.

I'm gonna be on Reddit all day just drinking in the salt

I think even I may do that. I make a point to avoid that place like the plague but I think it will be worth seeing some of the freak outs. It's really not that big of a deal when we have Hillary on deck sort of speak. Don't care to see meltdowns and rubbing it in either way on GAF though. I like the people here, but of course, we will.

There are only a few Bernie supporters of which I would revel in their dismay (The ones who bought into the Republican talking points). But there is a large swath who, at the minimum, deserve a "Good Game".

Fair enough. I'm much more interested in reactions from certain people once Trump is out. But then again, if Trump wins and becomes President, I may have to avoid GAF for a while. It's not going to be pretty.

I imagine the reaction will be along the lines of:

If Hillary wins the primary, its going to be very hard going forward, not just in regards to the immediate win, but because of Hillary's comments, it''ll have put off true progressivism forever in America.

Declaring Universal Health Care and tuition free college, and even Wall Street reformation unfeasible now or in the future and not even necessary is going to completely destroy the appetite for any sort of fixing of these issues. Successfully turning around supporters on these formerly liberal causes is probably the most destructive thing a success could bring.

I don't even care what her reasons are at this point, its very uncalled for.

Cannot miss the day Trump wins and Gaf is in complete melt down mode. I will not be making fun though.

I hear ya. I may disagree with some of the Hillary supporters, but I know that soon enough we'll all be on the same page. I also know that none of you will not vote for Sanders if it came to that.

Why would you ever want this

Do you want a repeat of 2000? An independent candidate only takes votes away from the candidate they more closely affiliate with. Bush beating Gore is the fault of Nader, do you want Trump or Cruz to win so Bernie could flaunt his ego?

Fortunately Bernie would not do this because he's not an idiot. He's confirmed he will not run as an independent.
