yep Nomura sure likes bring up people. He's been constantly feeding his ideas to the younger generation game creators, and credited as "creative producer/director". It is truly impressive.

Games he came up with the idea/approved but didn't direct include FF7, CCFF7, BCFF7, FF Agito XIII/Type-0, FF versus XIII/XV, Dissidia FF, World of FF, FF7 G-Bike, 3rd birthday, etc.

The people he brought up to key positions include Tai Yasue, Tabata, among other lesser knowns.

I am no Nomura fanboy but I really like his mentoring philosophy.

Please no 10 3. Just don't make it. That epilogue leading on to it sounds like the worst thing ever. Just let that game be. I'm in for an anniversary collection though. As for xv dlc, I'm still playing the game itself so jury's still out if I'm gonna care.

7 remake I'll probably try and hope for the best.

Best surprise would be "we got Mr. T to voice Barrett in the 7 remake."
 
While this event is hype, I'm assuming this is what SE meant when they said they'd be unveiling their plans in the next coming days :(
 
It would be clever if the Square team did what ubisoft did with Far Cry 3 by making the smaller game Blood Dragon.


A Final Fantasy XV rendition that honors older anime or a full blown mod like counterstrike was of half life would be fitting.

Theres alot of blacked out area on the map, im hoping the expansion fills those in.
 
My expectations for this event are so high I don't know if it could ever deliver.

  • I to VI, VIII and IX on PS4
  • Lightning Trilogy PS4
  • Final Fantasy XVI logo, main character, setting tease, and director
  • XII Zodiac Age release date
  • Proper remakes of V and VI
  • VII Remake trailer
  • XV DLC roadmap
  • XI single player (aka, all 15 games available on PS4)

I expect an FXVI tease. I would say that they learned their lesson, but I think the hype of the 30th anniversary will get to them. Bonus points if they say something crazy like releasing in 2018.

I guess I'm just gonna read gaf in the morning. It'll probably just be full of people having their expectations way too high and saying the event was boring and it sucked.
 
Since they are remaking 7, update 8 and 9 somehow. They haven't aged well at all. And I'd love to see a collection of all the games on PS4/PC, but fear the price for that. Announce a XV PC port too.

Matsuno and Ito are directing FFXVI, confirmed. Numbering to be dropped for a new series reboot. Game will be unveiled as Final Fantasy: Arcadian Dreams. Main character is a 38 year old royal knight. Female. She's also a secret member of the assassin's guild, working to unravel the truth behind the murder of the previous king 8 years ago. Battle system uses ATB + Real Time w/ Pause. 25 party members available in the game, some optional, some hidden, some only available on certain routes. 5 main routes in the game based on key decisions during certain battles and story events. Yoshida is the character designer. Minagawa and Minaba are the art directors. Full orchrestra score by Kohei Tanaka. No FMVs. All realtime cutscenes with full motion capture. Cinematic Director: Jun Akiyama.

Coming Summer 2018.
