I believe this game was one of the first and, quite rightly, the most famous fan translation to hit the web back in the dark days of subpar modem speed.
The entire game was a gem to play through. For my own personal enjoyment, it easily sits up there with FF6 as the Final Fantasy game with the most memorable sequences within it. The music to the opening scene is still one of my favourites of all time - especially the arranged version on the Game Music Concert 2 CD. In fact the entire soundtrack and piano collections album are always a pleasure to listen to. Very nostalgic, a lot of goosebumps. I have no shame in admitting that Lenna's Theme was one of the first tracks I wanted to play on the piano.
One of those games that will stick with you for the rest of your life. Hard to believe it has been 20 years since it was released in Japan. I imagine any attachments I have now would have been multiplied tenfold if I had played this as a 10 year old kid.
That's the annual Final Fantasy Five Fiesta!

I swear we have an anniversary thread for FFV every year. Not that it doesn't deserve them.
