Internal politics have a big role in these decisions, it's not just about sales.

Yep. Out of this World renders at 2560x1440 downsampled to 1080p so anything is possible.

FF Type-0 was never released in the West and many people wanted it.

Yeah probably would've been a waste of time to polish it for further platforms with little sales back. We already know the West almost completely moved to current-gen, so a Type-0 HD on 360 and ps3 is really unnecessary. On VITA even more.

It probably also has to do with the fact Tabata directed that game too and western folks begged for it. Which I maintain to this very day was incredibly silly. I never got the impression that Type-0 was worth all that begging and I still haven't.

Seems more like they are trying with this, FF7 and Type-0 to try and move some PS4's before XV's release. Which is fair enough, the current market size in Japan is abysmal.

Don't have any feelings for 10 HD on PS4, I'd be excited if it was on PC, was only a few months ago I completed it.

I don't think the number of PS4s sold in the west is what they're concerned about though. I think the "migrating the fanbase" comment is actually directed towards Japan, where the PS4 has a poor showing. If that is the case, the raw numbers for Japan would indicate 12 HD would sell better than a Type-0 HD.

But that's a what-if, I suppose.

I'm pretty sure we got the international version in the HD version. We also got the FM versions of the Kingdom Hearts series in the HD versions.
