It was confirmed that summons would be able to support more than one element. I guess Shiva is both water and ice.

Since Shiva is two sisters now, as opposed to only being one being, one of them could be water, while the other one is ice.

The next Jump scan(s) should be interesting. Chocobos are going to be shown, and apparently they look really cute. And Hope's summon is also revealed as Alexander. :)

Very cool. Can't wait to see what Alexander will look like. So much news lately that I think I'm being spoiled quite a bit.

Well, Brynhildr being there doesn't really rule out Ifrit. For all we know there might be more summons per element. Maybe one for each enemy that can use them as well?

I think it does rule out Ifrit being a player summon.

Wow, I love the full song. Lol. Maybe I'm just a loser, but I think the music is superbly produced. The singer is meh, but the music has an incredibly strong rhythm. The bridge at 2:50 is moving and sweeping.

Hamauzu is so freaking awesome.

Who will sing this in english? :D

Where are you finding the full song?

It's on youtube, nicovideo, and a bunch of other places. I love the song, it's so well produced, clear and precise, and clean sounding. I love songs where I can hear all the details and the lyrics are clear. So unlike Passion in KH2.

Then find me the link!

Oh and I liked Passion -.-

Sorta.

Really? I think it sounds pretty boring and bland.

But then again, outside of rap and metal, i have poor music sense.

Good, so perhaps you can tell me what the hell she is saying.

The rip (not whatevers on youtube, whatever) is superb. The rip could not be clearer. The bass is strong and the strings are very well articulated. This is excellent.

FFXIII could be the best FF ever and the OST will still be the best thing about it. OMG HAMAUZU

So it has nothing to do with the singer?

I can get behind that.

Eh, I like it ok. The harmony that she transitions into towards the end of the chorus is actually quite pretty, if not a tad generic.

I think the theme song is alright. I just think it pales in comparison to Versus' main theme (well, at least trailer music).

I'm curious to hear Agito's.

Yeah, i am very impressed with the trailer music from Versus, though i doubt that it will be the main theme (if the game even has one, which it probably will).

By god the translation on that video. :lol

It's a Japanese guy translating it to English...

I think the song is OK, but the rest of the soundtrack does a lot more for me.

*plays boss battle theme x100*

I change my mind, when removed from that super-melodramatic trailer, the song is not half bad.

And yeah, a big lol at the translation.

Is it really that bad? I'm on blackout, so I didn't see the translation yet. Maybe it's a literal translation? They'll probably fix that in the English version if they decide to do one.

Well in that case it's definitely a nice gesture.

So far, from all the trailers, and the several songs from the demo, I think it's probably the worst soundtrack I've listened to :/

I do like the boss battle theme, but the average battle theme is boring and repetitive, I'm going to have to kill the audio [mute] while I play this game, I can already tell. As for the main theme, I'll just not speak on that :X

I prefer to point and laugh, I don't give anyone credit for half assed translations.

Man it's annoying going to youtube and hearing people whine because FF13's battle theme doesn't have "epic" electric guitar solos... :(

"THE FEELING TO BELIEVE MAKES THE FUTURE"

This is the first time I've listened to it all. Do not want. It has no punch at all and when a singer is prominent in a song like this, it'll drag down the whole song if the vocals are boring.

THEY SHOULD BE THE SEGWAYS! Just think about how awesome that would be.

With remote lock. You know its locked when a loud "QUARK!" is heard.

Oh, well I usually don't either, but I thought you were getting angry at me for laughing at the translation. Nevermind then. :lol

Damn straight, but I thought the intent of this thread was to stay on topic and lay off the typical gaf-isms like ava/user/title/name quoting. Still, even if it is an overstatement, I'm not hating, just saying what I think.
Which is that thus far, the soundtrack has been underwhelming and puzzling since it sounds as disjointed as the game looks. What's this game even about?

:lol You just gave me an awesome mental image. Someone should at least turn the concept into fanart since we all know it's not happening in the game :(

At least Eyes On Me had a catchy melody. This one just sound totally generic. I like the other music better. I hope the "REAL" main theme is something different.

Wow... in-engine shots of the actual environments.

...

Some of them are kinda underwhelming. I blame the way that the red part of the building in the first two shots look.

ffxiii09.jpg

I want a poster of this so bad.

Environments are ok but now where near as good at ps1 yet, I feel ff games had so much more heart in every little area.

everthing look to open space like FFX I hope it not just going in a line like FFX was

To be honest, they remind me a lot of the pre-rendered days. Especially the last one, it looks like something you could see in FFVIII, even when it comes to detail and etc.

I can't wait until next-gen, when we'll start seeing some PhysX stuff for some real environmental debris. These cities look so clean D:

Unless that's entirely intentional. But you're right, when I think of FFX, I don't associate it with the same, compressed detail and charm that I feel from the PS1 prerendered backgrounds, for some reason.

It's entirely intentional. There is a sharp contrast in styles between a more "natural" art direction (ie: Vagrant Story, FFXII, Last Remnant, 4 Warriors of Light, etc) and a more "artificial" art direction (ie: FFVIII, FFX, FFXII). This is not something new to this generation, but has existed ever since 3D RPGs were made.

Mmm, true. But that red building just turns me off for some reason.

Maybe he'll turn into a back pack or something, he's too adorable!

Though technically, his "power" (reflect) would have to be augmented in some way...

Hmmm.

That and the tattoo bit.

He could learn that special attack that Ruby Weapon had in FF7.:D
