- FFXV went gold the other day, and that was planned to be the version they ship on Sept 30.
- That version of the game will be playable at Gamescom, and they are cutting a 30 minute gameplay video to be released on Aug 16 showcasing the performance of that version.
- They planned a massive Day One Patch for the game which would further polish the game and fix lingering issues.
- But they have decided that instead of pressing the current gold master and delivering a day one patch, they will instead wait and use that completed version as the final gold master.
- Hence the game will be delayed to Nov 29, but they will be adding even more stuff on top of the planned fixes of the day one patch.

If this is true, then I have a lot of respect for their decision. Great news for anyone who didn't like this generations output of unpolished games and day one patches. Though I'm sure we will get a day one patch regardless of the delay.

Since I will now be playing this during the holiday season, this kind of drums up memories of back in the day when my brothers and I would receive new JRPG's each Christmas.

For example, one year was Xenogears, Parasite Eve and Brigandine.(1998) Another year was FF8, Star Ocean and Chrono Cross.(1999)

We cannot compare square and their engine to the likes of naughty dog......not even close. Naughty has proven that delays work. Square i wouldnt trust as much since they keep scrapping and playing with engines for some odd reason and it keeps giving them major problems.

Probably because The Last of Us to Uncharted 4 was less than 3 years? You don't need to apologize for anything as long as fans are satisfied. Square Enix's problem is that FF fans haven't really been satisfied for a long time now.

For perspective - FFXIII came out 2 years before Uncharted 3.

I was planning to take the first week of October off from work for this game, thank god I haven't handed in my vacation request yet. Will delay it for a week and play Gears 4 instead.

Anyway, I hope they get the game together until November so it runs and looks good on the "old" current gen platforms also since I won't be getting a Neo anytime soon.
