Lol, I'm seeing the video. Three minutes or so about the master, on how it is the final version, just to say "We created a series of additional contents...a patch!".
And it seems so big they can't release it as Day One patch, they are worried about people not be able to download it, but of course there's a season pass for the game?
I don't understand. I'm curious to see how the game runs without this patch, and the benefit after.
Looking forward to a more polished product.
More polished product + more time to finish Persona 5 before it comes out. No complaints!
Personally hoping for a more polished final product on PS4/XBO andNeo
The demo was rough to say the least so I'm not too fussed. I'd rather they take the time and polish it up.
this better be one polished ass game
This. For any title.I would always, and I mean always, prefer a polished release that means delays over a rushed game with bugs and patches so this news is perfectly fine by me.
I have no doubt that they watched the fan reaction to NMS very closely, and that this is a response to it.Did anyone else notice the completely random irony of this situation and the shitstorm produced from No Man's Sky, regarding day one patches and PC performance. My god, that answer sounds like a direct reaction to what happened here from No Man's Sky.
So they're going to screw over PS4 1.0 users? I doubt that. The leaks from earlier did say that Sony pressured them into this though, for a Neo bundle.
Tabata seems (rightly) concerned about this game's place in the FF series legacy, and so perhaps he genuinely does want the definitive version recorded on disc for historical posterity. I hope I'm not naive for thinking that. Anyone who follows the process with HD remasters knows that these things like code and assets tend to get lost and separated over time and teams shift and companies move.
The way I see it there are two possible explanations regarding the Neo
- The game is not working and they need the Neo specs to make it work (kind of like the expansion pack situation in some N64 games)
- Sony has pressured S-E to delay the game so that it coincides with Neo and they can release a bundle and/or some special edition
Well, now that I think about it, both explanations work together perfectly. Bottom line: the game is not ready to hit shelves and that's it, they need more time and not even a day one patch would fix the game right now.
I think Neo is the cause of this. Might be silly but it just feels that way....
Tabata is going to some long holidays in 2017, that's for sure. He seems exhausted, poor guy

With 3 DLC episodes and an expansion pack to finish? I doubt so.
Summary of the Tabata statement from the video:
- FFXV went gold the other day, and that was planned to be the version they ship on Sept 30.
- That version of the game will be playable at Gamescom, and they are cutting a 30 minute gameplay video to be released on Aug 16 showcasing the performance of that version.
- They planned a massive Day One Patch for the game which would further polish the game and fix lingering issues.
- But they have decided that instead of pressing the current gold master and delivering a day one patch, they will instead wait and use that completed version as the final gold master.
- Hence the game will be delayed to Nov 29, but they will be adding even more stuff on top of the planned fixes of the day one patch.
tl;dr - The game is delayed because they believe not everyone has internet connectivity and they don't want them to be left out of the perfect FFXV experience when the game ships to stores.
Could be some other guy in charge of DLC like with Bloodborne I guess. Then again I doubt there is nearly as much pressure with the DLC than getting XV out in time.
Lol
I just hope it won't get delayed again because I have a 10 discount expiring on December and I want to use it on FFXV.
According to Slaythe this is beyond bug fixing and looking at the recent trailers and gameplay demonstrations I can't imagine him being wrong about his statement. It doesn't take 2 months to compress a patch onto the disk, they're going to continue development of a game that had no business being released in September.
I think trusting everything Tabata, who wanted to release the buggy game, says isn't too wise. Especially with the excuse of them not wanting to release a Day One patch followed by the statement that they're going to release patches and more DLC anyway. It just doesn't line up.
I still love how at first it's obviously a joke-post, but then quickly you realize "ohh... nooooooo"
Please remain calm.
2 months of time is plenty to remove the holding button to attack crap, and actually makes the game good. Just saying.
I wonder how much closer each delay gets us to a consistent 30 fps.
Gotta be guy who did wthe whole "I'm an expert post...".
Well this week is gamescom so we'll see how players feel on the fps.
TERRIBLE NEWS
...but only because I'll be seeing more or the same amount of "this game is going to fail!", "this game looks like garbage!", "SE is incompetent!" posts in every FFXV preview or info thread (including Kingsglaive and most likely that mobile pinball/arcade game or whatever that was). You know who you are and if you don't, well aren't you oblivious as hell on how you portray yourself. Perhaps I should just add more to my ignore list or just stop visiting the threads/GAF altogether.
As others have said, delays are only a good thing if the reason for the delay is continuing to work on the game. I've said before this delay doesn't even really affect me as I only plan to play this game on PC unless impressions are greatly beyond expectations. (I guess I also hoped to sell parts of my Ultimate CE sooner though)
It's about Erren Van Duine, aka our very own wonderful Kagari.Saw it on 4chan, have no idea who it's about but jeez.
