Final Fantasy XV delayed to November 29 - Confirmed

Tabata just doesn't appear to be telling the truth. It's pretty clear that the game is simply unfinished and they tried to rush it out for September 30th but didn't make it.

I don't like how Tabata is playing us for fools saying the game is completed and pretending that people don't have access to the internet. I have no doubt in my mind that even with this delay there will still be a Day One patch... He even said they plan to patch it after release.

Why couldn't he just say it isn't finished?

Telling the world the game "isn't finished" when we were 6 weeks (now 2 months) from release? That's terrible PR no matter how you slice it. People (well, more people) will start questioning the game's readiness. The way Tabata explained himself was a reasonable way to sidestep negative assumptions and put a positive spin on the news, regardless of what we think of the state of completion.

If that 30 minute demo is in Duscae primarily I might have to kill myself. I've had enough god damn Duscae.
I think most of the world just predominantly looks like Duscae so even if it isn't Duscae it may look like it!

That's something I'm getting round to accept now lol

I really hope not :/

They have to realize it's starting to make the game seem dull, and the game's world seem smaller than it probably is.

I mean if its from the beginning of the game for 30 minutes wouldn't we see chapter 0?

Unless they decide to skip that part for a surprise. I'm just with you though, i want to see a different area than duscae.

Nah, The Witcher 3 big patch was like 20 GBs and rewrote a lot of assets and stuff, they can do the same. If they are competent enough, that is (spoiler alert: I highly doubt it)

Yeah but that's a patch, aka not on the disc.

FFXV is 45 without the supposed massive Day One patch.

As a person who lives with garbage internet connection, I'm totally fine with this. And some ISPs in my country already blocked PSN because they thought it has porn in it!.

I think it'll be fun to hear some impressions about the current final version at Gamescom since people will get to play it.

What did I say that you don't agree with? They said days ago the game was coming out in September and now it's delayed.

Atlus also said Persona 5 was coming out in 2015 the same week it was announced to come out late 2016.

This decision was probably decided earlier this month, and decided to tell us now.

You honestly 100% believe that the sole reason for this delay is the oh so noble reason that they want to avoid day one patch and spare the people without internet connection the troubles?

Nah man.. It's delayed because the game is a kind of a trainwreck in various technical aspects of the game, and they simply needs more time to fix things rather than polishing. But they're not going to say that, because that makes them looked foolish, so they have to think of a better excuse for that.

This is what I'm inclined to believe anyway, others might not.

Aren't impressions from some journalists suppose to go up soon?

I don't believe this is 100% the reason for the delay but I also don't believe that the game is in this kind of "garbage and absolutely unplayable state" that some do. I'm squarely in the middle and not extremely negative.

Until just last week it seems they planned to do this though. The newest trailer still said September 30th. And Tabata already said they plan to patch it after release so they're not separate from this mentality at all.

I personally meant games that run like absolute trash without the patch. Sorry I was not clear about it. Of course though they are included in that.

It needs bug fixing and instead of doing a day one patch to work out the kinks, they rather have the fixes on disk. That's what Tabata said, and there is no reason to believe that's not true

I'd love to see what chapter 0 supposedly is, but they could very well skip it to maintain the surprise opening for day 1 players. Anything is possible at this point.

They spent so much money on that Uncovered event only to delay it again...that's kind of embarrasing
Yeah the only unfortunate thing is that event, in retrospective. I wish them luck, hopefully two months is enough. Maybe they bring me back on Day 1, as someone who wasn't impressed by demo or that boss battle, any of the recently released footage.

Well, I guess Cyber Monday night I'll finally be playing Final Fantasy fifteen.

Maybe they'll have some good deals on Day One DLC.

But humorously, if there ends up still being a day one patch after this delay to avoid a day one patch... >_>

Good. I wish more developers thought like that. The thought of some people playing a pre-patched version of NMS because they don't have internet or any other of the abundance of game released this gen gives me shivers.

Considering that the proof will be in the pudding in gamescom and on the 16th with the trailer, I'm willing to believe tabata that a Gold candidate was finished (as he said, just yesterday), but that there was a last minute decision to delay to further polish and bug fix (ie: day one patch shit)

I don't see how what Tabata said was unbelievable to you.

Oh yeah, is Kingsglaive still releasing on BD in October then?

That should help sate some people.

If it does, it'll make my wait more easy, thats for sure.

If the current build really is a trainwreck, we'll know by the end of gamescom since the public will be able to play it.

It doesn't have to be one or the other, it can be both. I also don't think it's in any way a trainwreck. Doubtful they'd only delay it 2 months if it was.

True, we shall see how it performs. Maybe I'm just an cynical asshole who believed the 4chan rumor leak about the game's performance issues, and the game is actually way better than rumored.

According to Slaythe this is beyond bug fixing and looking at the recent trailers and gameplay demonstrations I can't imagine him being wrong about his statement. It doesn't take 2 months to compress a patch onto the disk, they're going to continue development of a game that had no business being released in September.

I think trusting everything Tabata, who wanted to release the buggy game, says isn't too wise. Especially with the excuse of them not wanting to release a Day One patch followed by the statement that they're going to release patches and more DLC anyway. It just doesn't line up.

Read above I guess.

Don't worry, he's having a meltdown as expected.

I kind of feel bad, but the kid has been driving me up a wall the past couple days. I guess that's kind of petty...

Wow.

Once again the internet reminds me that I'm actually a well-adjusted individual.
