Wait, really? I thought Fire Emblem would be gone once I transfer from my current 3DS to the new one.

Only the origin system's data gets wiped. The destination system's settings, Miis, and stuff get overwritten but the game licenses are merged. (You only "lose" a game if both systems have the same game installed. Then your previously two licenses become one.)

Actually if I wanted to play Fire Emblem on my XL I'd probably have to system transfer my XL *to* the Fire Emblem 3DS, and then transfer it all back to the XL. That's stupid lol. :(

Why it is?

3DS had better speakers than XL. Better speakers is a big part why I'm wary of buying a XL instead of sticking with a 3DS since I like my sound in my video games. (And don't bring up HEADPHONES! Headphones are the worst, give me headaches.)

Yes, you can grind in this one.
YES! Will get FE eventually then. Playing too many RPGs and wanna get Pokemon Black 2 as my next one. But this does look like a good 3DS to have...

Bu unfortunatly, I don't think I have the money for it and know it will only be on sale for a day so...yea...

Damnit, seriously? Really weird that NoA is doing this, one good thing they've done in a long time.

Wish it were an XL.

Amazing. Thanks! I'm so going to sell my digital copy. Oh man, can't wait.

XL loses pocketability due to enormous size, damaging streetpass potential. Larger screens are "larger" but also have much worse DPI, a notable minus to the image-quality-conscious.
Plus it's the exact same size as GB Pocket and DS Lite, it just feels right in my collection :p

I didn't know it being the original 3DS was a deal breaker for so many people. Is it really the size? I recently bought a GB Micro and I never want to play GBA games on anything that isn't my Micro, but that's just me.

Almost more interested that it's a standard 3DS. XL has two issues I'm not too fond of: noticeably lower max volume and severe 3D crosstalk. You get a smaller screen w/ the standard, but things just look sharp.

Ew why not release some LE 3DS XL? Oh well Nintendo, I don't really ever expect you to get anything right these days. I'm glad it seems like we'll be able to get region free gaming soon with the hacks and we all know Japan will have all the cool LE 3DS XLs.

Yeah, the screens are just too damn small on the OG model. The DPI is lower on the XL, but the improvement from having such big screens is massive... for me, at least. It's just much, much more pleasant to use, especially if you don't care about the portability of it.

I'd buy a 3DS Micro in a heartbeat. It's Micro or XL for me. Nothing in-between!

Yup I feel this way too. I don't think anything looks sharp even on the OG 3DS so the bigger screen is the much better improvement for me.

Also the XL actually looks like they paid someone to design it with the nice rounded, refined looking edges. The edges on the OG? Who the heck thought that looked good?

Plus if your hands are sized large the 3DSXL won't hurt the hands.

Was just about to curse this as I upgraded to an XL yesterday.

Still a good bundle and a nice design though.

Damn it, I am going to upgrade to an XL but I must own this. Looks like I will get both. At least it will look nice next to my Zelda edition 3DS.

The original 3DS is so terrible compared to the XL, there's no way I could ever consider going back, the little differences pile up so very quickly.

Exaggerate much? Reads like you're over-compensating.

3DS vs XL comes down to preference, of course. I've got both. The 3DS image quality is slightly better, but I much prefer the larger screen and better battery life. Also fits more comfortably in my hands. Makes for a much better experience for me. I don't touch my 3DS anymore.

I also find it no less portable than the OG. But maybe there are particular circumstances (tiny pockets in skinny jeans?) where it just wouldn't work.

I suppose they want to clear stock. Blerg.

Well, there is no stock that needs "clearing." The XL wasn't a 3DS replacement, just as much as the iPad mini doesn't replace the normal iPad. Different sizes for different folks!

Exaggerate much? Reads like you're over-compensating.

No, pretty convinced of both items. 3DS barely fits in pocket as-is, XL literally does not fit, simple facts. And my experience with an XL demo unit cemented the DPI shittiness, the 3DS DPI was one of the things that impressed me the most, coming off the DSi. Using that XL was like traveling back in time.

Gimme an XL in the exact same proportions as the OG, so I can benefit from the nicer form factor, and we'll talk.

Kinda weird how they would prominently feature an XL in the add and then use it to sell a bundle with non-XL. Maybe there was some mix-up? Or perhaps they'll sell both models?

Also why another blue one!!! Why can't we have a white or black one for once. So far the only black one has been that Zelda one.

I think I remember Reggie saying that white handhelds don't tend to sell very well. Even pink systems sell more than white ones.

There was also the Cosmo Black 3DS.

Oh yeah I was thinking about the XL. I can't believe white ones wouldn't sell. Every single person I know has a white iOS device. I mean a white 3DS might not sell the best out of all the colors, but it wouldn't be the worst.

I mean they could sell it as a customizable one for kids or something. They can crayon all over it and make their own limited edition 3DS.

Very nice! Would be curious to see that colour and design adapted to an XL though.

Tempted to retry getting into the 3DS Ambassador Fire Emblem game. Tactical games like this and Advance Wars take a while to really click with me. :/

I like the color but not the design. Why can't NoA just release more 3DS colors. There's only red, black, teal blue, pink, and purple. Gimme some white, cobalt blue, lime green, or something even better. :(

Will wait for inevitable Pokemon X/Y 3DS bundles.

Does anyone know if Amazon is selling the game? I have an Amazon gift card I want to use to purchase this game, but I remember Amazon and Nintendo were having some issues...

Damn, would have bought if it came with a physical copy of the game. Guess I'm still going purple to replace my current black 3DS.
