Fire Emblem Fates coming to Europe on May 20th

Fire Emblem Fates Birthright / Conquest (Nintendo, €44.99/ £39.99 for one version, download the second for €19.99/ £17.99)

Fire Emblem Fates – Map Pack 1 (Nintendo, €17.99/ £16.19) - Includes 11 paid maps in total.
Fire Emblem Fates: Before Awakening (Nintendo, free) - Beyond the gate to another world lies the Halidom of Ylisse in this debut free DLC.
Thanks!

Guess I'll quickly get a eShop card for the midnight release instead then!

Hm, I may be better off just going eShop instead then - do you know if the bonus for buying the secong game (£39.99 for the first, £18.99 for the second) is only valid if you buy both at the same time?

Sorry to butt in with vague info: I have to assume that you can buy the second version from within the first, like DLC. That is the only thing that makes sense to me, since the digital bonus is applied for buying the first game in physical form too. I would therefore assume that you shouldn't buy both at the same time at all - instead buy and download one, to be able to buy the second one at a discount in the first place from within the first.

By the way, that makes me wonder... couldn't I lend my Birthright cartridge to someone so they use the game to buy a discounted Conquest eShop version?

Or is the system completely different from what I imagine?

Since it's going to be DLC and not a standalone game, that's not going to work. Unless he keeps your game until he's finished. Perhaps that's what you meant anyway.

Well that was weird, called GAME and just got a robot lady on the phone telling me that they usually ship days in advance. Is there a way to talk to an actual person?

HA HA. From the few orders I've placed, this has NEVER been the case. As late as possible. Still no ship email from them.
The website is awful too. It never logs me in with my gamestation account, or tells me it failed, when sometimes it has succeeded and have to refresh the page for my account to be logged in.
Really wish game companies would stop using GAME, usually ends up as being a worse experience for me as a result.
Not ruling out an email to say they have no SE copies left and offer a refund or something.

edit: bah, looks like my only hope is going all the way to germany (from the netherlands) to pick up a copy I reserved at a Media Markt.

Just got my dispatch order from GAME! Hopefully this was all just a delay in their system and it is on track for tomorrow! Judging by their twitter responses, I'm hopeful that this is the case

Jelly about all you peeps getting the LE.

I gave up so I'll be spending time with Conquest and I'll get Revelation from the eShop.

My amazon.de order has not been dispatched yet. It's been on "Versand wird vorbereitet" the whole day.
Really disappointing considering I was in the very first pre-order wave.

Frankly I haven't really trusted Amazon.de for much since they messed around with my Tales of Zestiria CE. I only ordered it from there because it was cheaper than buying it here in the UK at the time. I pre-ordered it really early on, and they didn't ship it out at all, citing stock issues. Then they had the balls to put it up for sale again twice days later, and still my pre-order wasn't fulfilled. In the end I just put in another order when it came back in stock and cancelled my pre-order, actually got it then. :|

I guess it should have been assumed, but the Spanish localization, and probably the rest, are based on the Treehouse censored localization.

Exactly the same for me except I ordered at amazon.fr. Been preparing all day, but still no shipment.

A bit of a shame really, I remember when The Thousand Years Door translations were actually based on the source rather than the English translation. I get that it's localisation rather than censorship. But it's still a bit disappointing.

What's the best way to go if I want to play all the Fire Emblem (assuming that the SE doesn't magically come back in stock this weekend)?

Don't worry, there's still plenty of really boring conversations based around the same old anime cliches.

To be completely honest, I wish Treehouse left their own mark a lot more on this game because I feel like Fire Emblem could use a way better story and some actually fun dialog.

Yeah, my amazon.de order is on its way and will arrive this afternoon.
Thalia.de of course just sent me an update email that the item hasn't been released yet. 9_9

Is out on the Eshop (at least in the UK it is). Works like the Japanese version in that there is only one version to buy and the route choice is made at the end of chapter 6, locking you out of the route you did not select and requiring it to be purchased as DLC.

Amazon UK you bunch of cunts, received an email this morning saying that it will not be delivered until the 7th of June despite the fact it is in stock, guess I will buy it from somewhere else now.

Got it! :)

Nabbed the free DLC map already too, I'll probably also get Map Pack 1 because why not, haven't already spent enough on this.

good luck with that

my order from Amazon.de is not coming until 16-17 June

They have back order stock available if anyone hasn't got it, still wants one, and can wait till June btw.

How long is this free for? Will it still be available when my copy turns up next month?

Grabbed my German LE copy from the local electronics store :) Can't wait to put it into my 3DS and ride together again! (as a general advise to my German brethren, I really had great experiences with local Saturn, Media Markt, Müller stores for LE preorders like that. They're friendly, they can already tell you in advance if they might not get enough copies for every preorder and usually, they're same prize as online order. Got my StarFox, Project Zero and Zelda Majoras Mask LE the same way.)

Gotta say though, my mainreason to get the LE was to have all content on one gamecard. The LE itself is rather standard-fare, I don't really care about posters and the steelbox is nice, but will not be used. Would've prefered an OST.
But I like that Nintendo keeps the sizes and format of their mini-artbooks consistent, I probably could at this point take all their artbooks of the last few years and sort them neatly on the shelves (and probably will do so after rearranging my room soon).
