The character choices are a big problem to be sure, making this game center around Fates/Awakening/FE1 was a huge mistake. FE has so many different characters to draw from and unfortunately by limiting it to centering around those 2 games (clearly Fates/Awakening is what its really focusing on) they are limiting the potential of what the game could do. Just compare it to Fire Emblem Heroes on Mobile and imagine they did the same thing, people would have stopped playing it right from the get go but because it has such a vast array of characters with new ones popping up rather regularly its doing extremely well.
There are dozens of fan favorites and we aren't even getting a bone thrown at us yet about them, its just the standard MC groups so far which are generally the most boring and basic characters of each game.
I'm not sure there's much they can do to make this game look exciting. Hyrule Warriors was able to capitalize on a lot of nostalgia and excitement on placing beloved characters in an entirely new game. Fire Emblem, meanwhile, is a way more natural (and less exciting) fit for a Warriors game and they seem to be going out of their way to avoid the more nostalgic options (though I don't think Japan has nearly as much reverence for the GBA/GC titles as the West does)Yeah, for some reason they're doing an awful job making this game look exciting. And that's coming from someone who loved Hyrule Warriors and begged for a Fire Emblem version. So far I don't think their character choices are very interesting either.
I doubt the most unpopular lords will make it before Ike or Roy.Alm and Celica next please!!!!!
So glad most of the awakening characters made it in.
True, Mercer is still in his "I'm unknown enough to dub stuff" part of his VA career lolI played through Awakening twice and never considered promoting Lissa to War Cleric, so seeing her with an axe is really jarring to me.
Yeah, her just moving on sounds likely to me, but I can't say much for certain. Didn't mean to suggest that it's a strike thing, though- just saying that Matt being back doesn't mean much.
Without sounding too much like an asshole, just imagine it looking less crisp, less characters on screen and struggling to hit 30 when they pull specials off. Look at every other warriors games to back this up. Oh and fog.Need footage of the N3DS version

Axe Lissa yessssssss
They are because they are unknown. At least before SoV launched. But I doubt Koei will count SoV because it released so close to Warriors. Are they unpopular?

Keep in mind I love the musou series, but it being on n3ds was a dumb move spec wise.

Hyrule Warriors is pretty good on N3DS and FE:W will most likely sell better on N3DS too
You expect FEW to sell better on N3DS than on Switch ?
of course it will
A game that can be played on a €160 system and cost €45 will sell better than a game on a €350 system and cost €60
Alm and Celica next please!!!!!

that really isnt saying much. but like i said , you should expect it to look like this in comparison to the switch version. ignore the other info on image but like i said, expect it to look drastically worse and less enemies on screen with probably less effects going on.

I got it on 3DS and enjoy it very much
Where is my gorgeous waifu Tharja? *insert angry emoji*
This game is really looking good. The background detail makes the Dragon Quest games coming to Switch look lazy AF.
Well, it looked exactly like a musou would look. Unless they're trying to fool FE fans into expecting a game different than what it is, I don't see why they couldn't show some gameplay.
if you like the way it looks, more power to ya.
Maybe its just me but i was much more impressed with HW when we saw Gameplay for the first time. This seem like a lower budget affair - dont know if its because of the generic foot soldier enemies instead of monsters or the facts that its developed with n3DS in mind as well.
Did they say if there's a chance of local multi coop?

I could see it being 5 per game at launch, would give us 17-18 (depending upon if another oc is playable) from fe1/3, awakening, and fates. IIRC they said more then other cross over games at launch which have always been 13 characters so 17-18 would fulfill that statement.
Probably going to have to pass on this one. The lack of any representation from any FE besides 1/Awakening/Fates is just sad. Yes, I know they said they would be focusing on these games but I really think Nintendo and KT dropped the ball here.
These are horribly cut trailers. I was hoping to see more gameplay.
yupAwakening saved the franchise, fire emblem 1/3 started it
Those two games will get over exposure in cross over stuff from now until the end of human existence. People just need to learn to accept that. It'd be like going into a ff cross over thread and complaining about too much ff7 stuff shows up.
... no Tharja? That's weird.
Maybe she will be DLC

If there are more Awakening characters, I'm guessing Tharja is one of them. Maybe Cordelia too, she seems to be popular.... no Tharja? That's weird.

You and others need to go back and look at Hyrule Warriors. Fire Emblem Warriors looks significantly better and more detailed. That some say otherwise continues to confuse me if they're being honest. We have direct feed footage of the game now for side by side comparisons.Idk i loved Awakening but still can't feel hyped for this :/ looks worse than HW somehow
