I am sorry for the some late replies here.

They should just revert back to old firmware for now...
Ye, that might have been a temporary solution indeed, i agree. If it doesnt causes some compability issues while playing online with people who have firmware 3.00 installed though, but i dont know if a compability issue like this would occur even with different firmwares though.

Ok, last night i posted about how my 3 month old 80GB suddenly YLOD on me, and i thought it might be 3.0 related....(for those who say firmware cant brick systems, dont forget the 2.41 debacle when it DID brick certain PS3s and Sony replaced them).
Ye, firmware 2.40 (2.41 was the fixed firmware by the way

) did brick som PS3 consoles indeed, but did these bricked console got YLOD? I thought that they simply wouldnt start or something, as in getting a black screen and no XMB/picture on the screen. But i might be wrong though

Anywho...so i had bought my 80GB at Walmart. Before the 1 yr warranty you have 90 days to return it to Walmart if it has issues. As of last night i was 1 week over 90 days. On a whim this morning i called Walmart and asked for a manager and pleaded my case.
They BEYOND hooked me up....I was able to exchange my YLOD 80GB for a new Slim (since thats all they carry), AND since i had bought my 80 GB for $400, they also gave me back $118 cash (the price difference plus the cost of my old 2 yr extended warranty), and they gave me a new 2 yr ext warranty for my Slim! Walmart customer for life right here!!! :lol
Anyhow....Slim was hooked up tonite, and im back with 3.0 again. So far, everythings great, and the Slim is quite a sexy beast too!!
Ah, that is really cool to hear!

Nice that you got a new PS3 and even some money back

It would have sucked if had to buy a new PS3 because that the warranty had expriced on your older PS3.

Damn. I was about to start it, but with all these reports of freezing and crashing I'd rather not risk it (especially with a 60GB). Any word on an update?
I think that the 60GB PS3 models are the once that have had the least problems with Uncharted. But i can understand if you dont want to risk it because i dont know if it is too good for the PS3 hardware if a game freezes (or can the PS3 hardware take damage if games freezes by the way?). It might be better to wait for an update that fix the problems indeed

Unfortunately i dont think that there are any word on an firmware update yet :\

Yeah, stutter is sometimes REAL long in KZ2 since update...
Is there any special place in KZ2 where the game stutters for a real long time? I only tried one place in the game (early in the game when you fly down to some market, unfortunately i cant remember the name of this level) and the in-level loading only lasted for about 1 second or so for me there.
EDIT: I added some text.
