Actually you can, it just resets to default after you change the theme. Just change it back to pop or rounded after you select your theme.

You need to put the on the ps3 HDD via mem stick or usb device. You can actually download it straight from the site with the ps3's browser and it will auto install itself.

so before I try to figure this theme maker out, does anyone know if you can put in any font as part of your theme? Thats what I really want.

Everything is done in the xml file, but it seems you can only use fonts installed to the ps3. Dunno if there is a way to install more :x

The program isn't a GUI, it is a command line compiler. You have to make all the images and then create an xml file in the format of the sample. You then compile it and it makes the theme file. I hope they make a GUI soon. This is too confusing for most people to use.

Well, if you font selection by an INDEX, then there may be new fonts, but Sony will add them and you just increase that number. Otherwise a random set of fonts would produce a different ordered list.

The randomly turning on thing while remote wake enabled? Really annoying. I wish I knew how to fix it. It turns out it doesn't matter if I have any DLNA servers running or not.... I don't know what's causing it. (whatever's triggering it must be on my local network though..... remote play from the internet requires the PSP to sign into your PSN account)

edit: so the easist thing you can do is just work on the icons in the sample folder and save them with the same name. then you can use the xml instead of writing a new one - right?

I just discovered Nero MediaHome was doing that to me.... you have that running?

Yeah, I don't think there's any DLNA stuff running on my network (I have Macs, so it's not WMP11 either).

I've narrowed it down to

a) Something on my other computers on my network (2*FreeBSD servers)

or

b) The Internet.

I will find out what's going on though.

ex. cd Desktop\p3tcompiler_v101

press enter and after you do that type or paste this line

Press enter and it will compile everything for you

The output folder for the .p3t file will be folder the xml file is in. ( sample\01\ )

You don't - you set the 'album name' in the Information view of a file and it magically jumps into a folder of the same name.

It's an odd concept. Especially given how there's not enough games yet to deem it useful to split up by genre yet. But just go with it. Pretend "Album" is some french word for "Folder."

And now it sucks.

It doesn't look at spaces anymore. I used to have spaces in front of my video titels, to compensate for not having folders:

other

Now, with firmware 2.00, the PS3 ignores those spaces. And we still haven't got folders, nor does the playlist thingy work with videos.

Theme icons are indpendent of wave background, wallpaper, whatever.
And yes, choose the color, I believe.

If you do it in the command prompt it won't flash, if you double click it it does.

You need 3.72 in order to have it work on the PSP.

But videos benefit the most. However, it's strange that in a folder, the video thumbnail doesn't work anymore. It's always at frame 1.

No option to set a picture as the thumbnail though...not even for folders.
