To be clear there is NO chance that this will be the case.

No, but people who make sweeping generalizations based on bad set photos are.
"I like it" or "I don't like it" are sweeping generalizations now? I think it's just people forming opinions based on what they've seen of something. Premature? Maybe, but that's the Internet. No, but people who make sweeping generalizations based on bad set photos are.

damn... so its going to suck then?? ohh well
^ thisAlright lets have an actual conversation about this. Everyone (or at least a lot of people) seem to be unenthused about this design. But if not this... then what?
I'm finding it hard to fathom what would be considered "good" design. For instance, I love the Ironman armor but at the same time it doesn't blow me away especially after seeing it for 3 movies over the last few years. The original Robocop suit can be considered iconic but I do believe that nostalgia plays a big part.
At the time, it was such a feat. The detail, the fact that there was a real person under all that, the fact that we hadn't seen anything like it especially since it came out when we were children. This new design, to me, is pretty much in line with what we would expect and I can't imagine anything really blowing people away. I mean what did we expect/want. It's a robot. We've been looking at robots for decades now. What exactly would cause everyone to stop and say "WOAOAAAHAOAHHHH". Not much I'd imagine. The only piece of robot character design I've liked form the last few years was Legion from Mass Effect. And even then I said "oh... cool."
So again: If not THIS then what?

I still maintain that the old suit looks just as ridiculous as some seem to think this new one is, so I have no attachment to it at all. I have zero issues with the new design, I mean..it looks exactly how I would imagine a 2012 interpretation of a character designed in the 80's to look.
As others have said, what it's really going to come down to is how it looks in motion. As well as whether or not there are going to be any digital enhancements made to suit similar to Iron man.
Just Finished watching Robocop on netflix. Soooo good.
Robo crawling in the parking garage with a 100+ cops going off on him with the epic theme in the background. Chills.
The problem with the new suit is two fold:
- boots look lame
- 1 color
I doubt this many people would be upset if these two were remedied.

I can't see Keaton as evil. He's Batman for crying out loud.I guess Keaton is going to play the Dick Jones part? Awesome.
So God hates himself?People with signs written "God hates robots" and "Man was made in God's image, Robots are manmade".
Love it.

So God hates himself?
It is a masterpiece. They better not even try to touch the theme with a 10 foot pole and mess with it.
Windows 8 MetroSo I wonder what OS this Robocop will run. The OG run DOS like a BOSS, so will it be Android or Windows this time? If you go by lineage, it has to be Windows.

Beetlejuice is not a villain. Well, not if you go by the cartoon at least.Never watched Beetlejuice? He's technically the villain in that...even if you do end up rooting for him![]()

PG13 is much worse than any costume. He could look like a teletubby and I'd still see it if it was R rated but PG13 for robocop really sucks. I want the extreme violence and satire of the original but I know it won't happen because money and babies.
Maybe they mixed up "Robocop" and "Super Force" at some point during production.![]()
Dude has a new bike !
Nah that bike is Robocop.Maybe they mixed up "Robocop" and "Super Force" at some point during production.
