I posted the news in this thread, but I figured it could warrant its own thread. Anyway, new data as of the 1st of April shows that Fox Television Studios, Inc. and Microsoft have come to terms over this issue:
The original agreement in PDF format is linked but doesn't lead anywhere, so at the moment we only have the agreement in poor JPG quality:
With a little luck perhaps we'll get an announcement at E3? Good news nonetheless for the future of the franchise.

As shown in the attached Coexistence Agreement, the Owner of the cited application consents to registration of the subject application.
