But even Noveria had the crazy Mako ride up to the top of the mountain, giving the whole place a much more open feeling. ME2 you always felt boxed in.

Just because they give you a slightly bigger box doesn't mean you're not still boxed in. That sequence lasted all of five minutes and was a straight shoot along a thin cliffside.

The 'emptiness' and the lack of constant action creates an atmosphere of alien places and wonder.

When you're creating a 20-30 hour action RPG, maybe having half of its content be "empty" and "actionless", you know, maybe that's not such a good fucking idea???

Can anyone please share the link of Ashley's pic, i really cant be bothered to go through the previous pages on this laptop...

It's a scan, friend. You have to go find it yourself. Don't ask scans around here unless you want to get banned.

It's a question of subjective feelings then, I always felt the mako ride to be boring and tedious.

I only just want Conrad Verner to be called as a witness to the stand. Re-spec'ing and changing Shepard's looks will never be more appropriate.

Too easy.

I love Mass Effect as much as the next guy, but it has to be this generation's best candidate for some seriously mental revisionist history from the fans.

its amazing that the fans of a game released this gen could be comparable in my mind to the crazies of much older fandoms.

Imagine if the case was handled like Chrono Trigger...

Too much passion overriding one's logic. I think it is a defense mechanism for "CRPG" fans after being shitted on constantly.

It's really true. On both the fans and detractors sides.

It was speculated the trial will allow for Bioware to make token cameos for all the people you've helped (or hurt) in the previous two games, while also allowing new players to get up to speed.

So, yeah, I'd expect basically just like CT but with two games to work with.

Fuck you guys that hate on Sub Zero, she was the best character in the game, and the only one that actually developed based on your choices. "I don't know Shepard, is this right?" "You're a killer Jack, that's what killers do." BANG. Most satisfying line in the game, she tries to reform and learn empathy, and you say no bitch, I want the violence. The violence is hot. And she actually has cool stories, unlike lizard man or black guy or nerd bait. Mordin was the only other character I really liked.

Now Miranda was a soulless skank.

If you played the game the right way, it will be like the series finale of Seinfeld.

EDIT: Shepard, Garrus, Tali, and whoever sitting in a cell. Wow, really might become a comic on 4chan in a few months.

Yeah, Jack was so extreme. I loved the part where she pounded a Monster and crushed the can against Shepard's forhead, then broke down in tears crying about her daddy. Epic.

I'm cool and a deep character because I swear all the time and act like a bitch. I'm bald and have tattoos too. I'M VIOLENT BECAUSE THE OTHER KIDS DIDN'T LIKE ME IN THE TRAINING FACILITY. WHAT? YOU SAY THEY HATED ME BECAUSE THEY WERE TORTURED AND KILLED BECAUSE I WAS MORE VALUABLE? FUCK THIS SHIT. I'M GONNA DROP DA BOMB.

Absolutely not.

Mass Effect was a modern masterpiece of epic proportions with fantastic techno-optimist sci-fi visual design.

Mass Effect 2 was OK.

You aren't making any sense by using the word masterpiece. :] I understand that you strongly connected with the first game more because of how it was presented and what it tried to pull off, but no. Masterpiece imply mastery and there's none of that in the game which I finished for the fifth time 2 weeks ago.

Having a ridiculous amount of random loot from containers or random battles relatively to a small backpack size is not an example of mastery in any shape or form. Overabundance of money with about nothing to spend on except the best weapon.Lot's of guns, but you only need to buy the best which are specter. Biotic giving you too much control over combat and I won't talk about the rest of the flaws which are more than well known.

You would never dare say that the first Star Trek movie is a masterpiece, even if it had plenty of great moment (awesome presentation of the enterprise + awesome musical piece + soundtrack, solid special effect for the time, etc) and sci-fi concept (with NASA and Asimov having an input as well). Of course, the pacing was absurdly slow given the running time or paperthin plot and the original version had an infamous sequence where they just stare at a long corridor inside the AI entity (one of the biggest WTF were they thinking moment I have seen in a movie along with the eternal road driving sequence in Manos: the hand of fate...). Mass effect is flawed as a game just as much as the Star trek motion picture and yet you call it a masterpiece?

The composition and use of music in ME1 was masterful. So, yeah. There is an argument to be made for the universe creation as well. I will not budge on the music, however. It was perfectly done and perfectly used.

Sounds like a great character to have at your side when you finally kill those giant space-gods shaped like cuttlefish spaceships.

Is it still too much to hope for the Star Control 3 ending where Shep leads the combined revitalized Krogan/Rachni/Geth fleet against the Reapers?

Oh hell, just thinking about Star Control makes me remember that everything about that game is so much more interesting than anything ME2 has done

Why would anyone want anything to like Star Control 3?

Ah-ha! I totally called the squadmates being Liara and Ashley/Kaiden.

Are they bringing back Biotic amps? The lack of them coupled with the Global Cooldowns broke biotic classes at higher difficulties.

No it didnt.

She'd make an excellent space torpedo. I can just hear the angst as she's locked into the tube, only to be silenced as she's shot out at 50000KPH. Because remember, in space, nobody can hear you whine.

I'm going dark now. The first few sentences of the recap of the scans are already too spoilerific in terms of the experience. I don't want to know what to expect (unless Shit Mountain returns).

What? You can hold like 250 pieces. Fucking sell something once in a while!

The redesign is ridiculous, if that's what she looks like during combat. Ashley's design was cool, because she wasn't very sexualized. I liked how she wore functional, bulkiest armor available, not this low-cut skintight nonsense.
But hey, that's Mass Effect now. Here's hoping Tali shows some sideboob this time.

Gotta give the weirdos something to fap too.

oh jeez an inventory what is this a fucking role playing game

Not sure if you are you are being sarcastic towards HK or sarcastic towards the guy bitching about being capped at 250 items. Anyhow, modern rpgs let you carry way more stuff than you need, and just encourage hording. Even in games with weight limits like Fallout NV, you could carry over a dozen guns, 3-4 sets of armor, and random extras. Inventory management used to be a strategic element of a computer rpg. You couldn't just quest for 10-15 hours straight with your bags of infinite space.

The cap was 150, and Mass Effect's inventory isn't a CRPG inventory; It's a piece of shit that fills up too fast and has nothing in it you actually want since anything worth using is already equipped on your characters, and not only is it completely useless in this regard, but it's also a complete bitch to get rid of, since you have to painstakingly, one by one, delete or sell each piece of armor or weapon mod, even if you have multiple copies of the same exact weapon or mod. It was garbage, and the absence of it is a marked improvement, though an improved actual inventory would obviously be more preferable.

Liara is really a dissapointment that is being confirmed as squadmate, after Shadow Broker I find that new role suite her better and now Bioware is wasting a slot in her....

Doesnt make much sense that she would leave the base. But she has a big fanbase for obvious, retarded reasons.

I have an extremely short memory when I comes to games, even ones I like, but didn't you have the option to convert loot to omni gels or something? I think I just did that for anything I picked up that was garbage. You really didn't have a need for money in that game. They threw it at you from what I remember.

Well there aren't many likable female LIs, Tali being the only other one really. Miranda, Jack, and Ashley all have issues.

That's what I meant by deleting. You still have to do it piece by piece, so the only convenience is that you don't have to search out a shop.

I think the reason for not attacking the Citadel is that they need someone inside the Citadel to open the Citadel for them. If they attack I doubt the Reapers could take the Citadel without destroying most of it. It is conceivable that if they destroy it the relays may stop working all together which would hurt the Reapers more than the rest of the Galaxy. Even if destroying the Citadel didn’t have an effect on the relays the reapers would still have no control on the relays then. Attacking the Citadel may disrupt some of the communication but without controlling the relays they can’t stop it completely so the Citadel may not have much value for them at this point.

We won't know until ME 3. But since Ashley pretty much tells Shepard to get fucked on Horizon, who could blame him?

Which is kind of the correct response (since anyone calling out Shepard for being with Cerberus is correct by default), though you get a reconcilation letter if you were in a relationship with her.

Yes, and that's what I ended up doing as soon as I saw any item which wasn't a piece of armor in my last new game+. Too much junk and it's less annoying to convert it before it goes into your inventory given how it's superbly designed. :P

Liara as issues with being a boring, poorly written info kiosk.
