Has there been any news other than the Red Steel screenshots, or has it been mostly discussion?
some quotes from the article have been posted honestly the game sounds awesome

someone correct me if Im wrong But wasn't GI also the first source for 360 screens? Condemned was it?
I think you're right, but I'm not 100% sure. It would make sense, though -- GI's easily the largest videogame magazine in the US.

The article also explains how the game will play out and what the basic controls will be. As most suspected, you aim with the revmote and actually move with the control stick add-on. You can wield swords and guns, and have some pretty fast paced sword fights in one-on-one fights. Online multiplayer and split screen is happening. Throw grenades by imitating a lob or a roll. You can hide under or behind objects in the level by using the revmote, and you are basically out to get mob bosses.

Sounds fun. I'll be keeping my eye on this game. :)

I thought EGM was...
I don't know the figures off-hand, but EGM has a base of around 800,000/month while Game Informer sells around 2.1 million/month. In terms of subscribers, I think EGM has 500,000 and Game Infomer has 1.5 million.

guys, just what til you see what Retro has done with the system. HAL even.

: dodges trash :
The mention of HAL in a thread that's about a first-person Revolution game that's not on rails makes me want a Pokemon Snap sequel. Badly.

How the HELL did this hit 17 pages in a day!? I mean, it's an Ubisoft thread...

What did I miss?

Not bad at all... looks like a LindBergh game. ;)

Im guessing the five launch games from nintendo will probably warioware waggle, mario 128, modified rev version of kirby gc, modified twilight princess, and either smashbrother or the new ip that miyamoto is working on.
Wario Ware and Mario 128 are natural bets, I think we'll probably see a NST racer too (Excitebike?). Beyond that I'd expect something different from Nintendo, maybe a music game or puzzle game or something.

Stage Debut! or something like that.

You are right. Clearly no one knows how the revmote works except people working with it. And what do we have here but the fruits of their labor! And it's... a fps game. Which looks like it does most of the things a normal FPS does. In fact, aside from the sword fighting (which they didn't talk enough about) there's nothing going on here that couldn't be done with a gamepad.

Now, whether or not it's more FUN with the revmote, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The Revmote has 6DOF, a regular analouge stick has 2DOF, so a dual analouge setup has 4 DOF and the revmote+analouge has 10. In the end it means you can program a lot more responses for tomething like the revmote than you can dual analouge. It's stuff like using the remote to push over obstacles and use them as cover, or pulling the remote back to reload, has me most interested. Sounds like they've found natural ways to replace a lot of the buttons on controllers. some people mentioned tilting the controller sideways to stick to walls or something, and then the grenades, etc.

Also, I'm sure the way the sword works will take more advantage of the rotation sensing then the gun does. It's likely the sword will do even more that a regular controller couldn't

haha not even day this was posted at 4pm eastern or something like that, then one dumbfuck died for our sins and the snowball started rolling from there.

I apparently missed the sins! :D

So what's the good word so far? Impressive? Wall-guy? I saw that mentioned.

Well, I'm pretty impressed(all things considered, of course). I guess the Rev won't suck all that much graphically. After reading the controls and seeing some of the "gameplay"-pics, I wonder if you can play this adequately lying down on your couch. :P

If this is any indication, it looks like E3 may be set to shake the foundations of the interweb. Which is good.

jett ;)

At the rate this thread is growing, it should surpass oblivion's thread by tomorrow. RE4 thread being locked = vindicated.

I think it looks very good for Revolution, I'm impressed but I'm even more impressed with the ways they implemented the revmote.

Wall-guy? No, not really. Besides a few numbfucks (yeah that's right, numbfucks) in here, the response has been very positive, as it should be. I mean, seriously, our expectations were incredibly low for a while there.

But the real kicker here is that the gameplay aspects sound very very cool. The Revolution controller is quite an amazing thing.

Most folks agree that graphically, the game looks better than they thought Rev games would look. For some, it's on par. For a few, it's not good enough.

The game has some slick innovations, when you twist the revmote sideways your gun does the same, and apparently you can force people in the game to surrender instead of just shooting everyone.

I don't think much was mentioned about the first-person swordfighting.

/fairly lame thread summary

you guys act like you "missed" the pictures. Think for a second and you'll be able to find them. :lol

I dont think any of the regular leaked pictures sites actually have them yet.

The first link we were provided was from a no name place

One of the bigger and more popular Nintendo fansite has them up.
And the two largest game blogs period have them.
How hard can it be?

I know you aren't. A lot of these big blog sites are sourced on GAF all the time thats why I assume most know of them.

'I don't like the crosshairs' was my immediate first thought. My second was something to the effect of, "Surely those aren't real-time/in-game shots, right?"

Jesus Christ...I came home and saw this thread's size....I thought it was an old thread. :lol :lol Turns out I was wrong....

As for the screens...looks a lot better than I thought! Plus the RevMote sounds great! :D

Looks pretty good...

I'll probably get the mag anyways 'cos this seems almost like a historical event now. And there's other Revolution info in there too, like an interview with George, right? What else is in it?

Also, I like the name Red Steel. Makes me think of blood dulling a sword being a gameplay element. HA...imagine having a blood soaked sword and you had to flick the sword (revmote) to get the blood off...better yet, how 'bout flicking the blood against your enemies to temporarily blind them? Crazy!

Surprized no one has photoshaped Zoolander's BLUE STEEL into this topic.

They most likely are, we read raving hands-on quotes.
