Nothing is wrong with them really, its just a better overall view of where some of the sacrifices were made (low poly, etc). Still looks good though, just not 360 / PS3 good.

only the aiming would translate well. everything else would have to be redone as far as the controls go._leech_ said:PS3 + Mouse/Keyboard support.
If the game's good, it'll be good on a regular controller. Not like the Rev is going to transform a 4.5 game into a 9.0.

phantomile co. said:yeah it's do-able, but would you really be interested in playing without the controller it was designed for?
Yeah, I suck at the internet too. :lolphantomile co. said:i must really suck at the internet, because im as good as blind right now. can't see shit.

DefectiveReject said:as the guys said yesterday who i quoted from Official Nintendo Magazine, ALL GAMES which will be shown outside of Nintendo 1st party are running on NON FINAL hardware.
Don't be too worried.
SoVos20 said:I agree. These 2nd year Xbox type graphics should not be something to worry about. Revolution should be able to do late Xbox graphics too.
But Nintendo has Pikmin power, and "one last secret"!Chiggs said:Saw the new scans. Graphics aren't as good as what we saw before, but it still looks pretty tight.
Question for some of the tech-savvy posters out there: Can Nintendo and Nintendo fanboys actually use the "but it's not running on final hardware!" excuse? I mean, it's not like the Revolution is using exotic new hardware (like the PS3 and Xbox 360). Surely the dev kits that are out there are fairly representative of the system's power?

Also the scans look just fine.

Reject, you think the final dev kit is going to magically transform these graphics from "something an XBox could do" to "OMG NEXT GEN TOTAL"?
Keep trippin'!

With six months left to go the graphics won't improve a whole lot. And that has nothing do with the hardware. PS3 software isn't going to look a whole lot better in six months either.Chiggs said:Question for some of the tech-savvy posters out there: Can Nintendo and Nintendo fanboys actually use the "but it's not running on final hardware!" excuse? even if it did hit other systems out of nowhere, who would want to play a game that was built from the ground up with the revmote in mind with 2 sticks?

PS3 = Real Next Gen System
Rev = GC+
I doubt seeing it in motion is going to make a huge difference. Certainly you can't appreciate the animation and physics in still shots but I doubt those things will be up to the standards of PS3 and Xbox 360 titles. But at the same time I think it is a mistake to compare Rev and PS3/Xbox 360 software. Nintendo has different priorities and has been quite open about it. At least people should wait a price before spelling doom for Nintendo.Slurpy said:Noone here at this point has enough information to make visual conclusions yet, so please dont pretend to.

I'm not tech-savvy, but final hardware is reported to give a 5-10% power boost. Not too much. However if I were a developer I'd feel uncertain about what I can demand at most from the hardware and play it safe for the time being.Chiggs said:Question for some of the tech-savvy posters out there: Can Nintendo and Nintendo fanboys actually use the "but it's not running on final hardware!" excuse?
SoVos20 said:Exactly Nintendo priority is rebagaging old technology as new. Sony and M$ priority is delivering the newest technology to the people.

The first PD0 screens looked truly awful (and to be honest the final game doesn't look that great either) but they still showed graphics that are technically more advanced than Red Steel's. It just proves that things like parallax mapping and other fancy shader tricks are no substitute for art direction and polish. All Hail C-Webb said:The pictures of Red Steel look alot better than the first pics of PD0, and it''s further from release then PD0 was when it was first released.
