Those arent scans right?

EDIT: ow :(

hehe, a couple of people have tried to post those. :P

Just watching your back.

Someone got sneaky and took the scans and cropped them to look like released screens then color enhanced them. But, yeah, they are from the GI mag.

:)

Ive looked through the last pages of this thread but didint see the official screens. Are they posted already?

*edited*

Mod Note Again, scans... another mag... whatever, you know the dig.

oh schnapps

he should know the dig! Just don't post anything Red Steel in this thread that's an image atm, Ubisoft has not released ANY official shots except from that mag :P

yeah, this game needs bucket loads of blood, Kill Bill style. I'd love to see Ubisoft go nuts with spraying blood effects from severed limbs and heads like Tarantino did in his movie. I imagine Ubisoft would want to make the game somewhat family friendly to stay in Nintendo's good books, so to speak, so they could just offer an option to turn such effects off.

Exactly! Everyone is going nuts about this whole immersion thing - well I don't see how I can feel part of the game is my katana strike to some fools arm or skill is greeted with a bloodless death and animation that looks more "Goldeneye" than next-gen. If environments can be destroyed then I expect the same of enemies heads and body parts

Nintendo already said that Revolution would have "parental controls", it is illegal to sell these bloody games to minors etc. Give us the fucking blood and gore!

What animation?

All three console manufacturers stated long ago that their upcoming machines would have parental controls.

If this game doesn't have gore, it's because Ubisoft didn't want it there, not Nintendo. If Nintendo didn't restrict stuff like Mortal Kombat Deception etc. on Cube, I can't imagine why they would on Revolution.

I agree, I think the game should have at least some blood. But Red Steel wouldn't be red....without blood...so I find it hard to believe there isn't blood in this game, or at least different settings of blood.

By the way, I like the logo. :)

And SCROW, I liked your "metroid" version of your avatar the most so far. Just my opinion though. It was cool.

I also hope that we don't get bloodless gun/sword duels. An option seems like the best bet really. Maybe built into the system parental control system or something.

Would you mind pointing out where I claimed that any console didn't feature parental controls or that Nintendo was restricting the gore?

i think jarosh suggested it to me. i like it too.

from what I read the beginning should be a blood-bath
the rest of the game seems to be centered around

No Kills = Skilled Player

Carnage = You suck at sword fights

so if it is bloody you must suck at the game.

I prefer to "suck" then. Give me my fucking blood.

Oppss...Sorry about that... I meant to disarm but, but instead chopped your effin head right off. Oh well, next level please. :)

Seriously, fuck mercy. Kills are going to be so much more satisfying when you know you can spare your enemies life. "Ok, get up brother. I won't kill you this day. Tell your friends to lay down their weapons." ... "JUST KIDDING *SLASH*"

I think stylistically, Timesplitters can get away with no blood much easier. It's not distracting there. It's very distracting in something like Medal of Honor, or a game where you're trying to slice someone's arm off with a katana.

That's true. You'd expect blood in a game with swords more than a gun-based game. It isn't a deal-breaker for me though. If it's a good game then I'll play it anyway

it'd suck if Ubi made it so that once an NPC is on friendly terms with you, you can no longer harm them :(

to have bloody beginning and a more calm and cool game after that is pretty cool.

I was such a merciful bastard in MGS3 I think I killed like 5 or 6 enemies in the game total and those were because they A) Discover me B) Came close to discover me C) by accident.

so having the option to spare lives is pretty damn cool.

that would be pretty lame

or if you can still kill them, but the faction still didn't attack you after that deal was made

It says that they had an exclusive hands-on with the Revolution, Nintendo 's ready to talk but only to EGM
I love how all these outlets always assume their exclusives are the only exclusives. This issue comes out weeks after GI's issue?

It would be weird from Nintendo to reveal some stuffs just before E3, no ?
Nah, they want to create some buzz just to be sure as many people as possible show up to their booth and conference. I'm sure they're rationing it out so they don't spill too many beans beforehand.

Nah, Nintendo usually releases a couple secrets (provided they got some) the weeks before E3. An example of this was the MGS:TTS announcement they made right before E3 2003. I think its probably to build up pre-E3 hype in their favor. Iwouldnt be suprised to hear more info the closer to E3 we get. At least I hope. :)

I'd like to see character models losing limbs. I want to hack a guys lower leg off and leave him temporarily alive (screaming) on the floor while I slice a few of his gang buddies up...but it doesn't look like UbiSoft are going to do this. There is always scope for a sequel

Here is the logo for those who don't want to visit the lame site (as it is now):

I'm starting to think this thread will be much bigger than the official thread for this game.

Slicing someone with a sword almost guarantees limbs will go flying. The only way I can see them NOT doing that, is if they desperately want to keep a Teen Rating (which probably isn't the case, knowing Ubi Soft and knowing that Rev hasn't established a user base). If they didn't have bloody, body parts flying everywhere, the game would be a whole lot less cool.

But how would it work? With the Revmotes easy controls, you could cut off any part. You could take the top half of their head off, or just their hand. If they actually implement and have animations for all of those I'll be blown away.

I did both the sword and gun to see if anything different happened. So lame.
what were you expecting? the control device (mouse) you used to control the sword is archaic technology now. they're just reminding you how terrible 2D control devices are... you see? do you see the genius of it all!?

Im kinda half expecting the guy to just blink a couple times after I attack him and then just disappear. Kinda like the old Lethal Enforcers games. :-( Please make it not like that, ubisoft. :P
