Games That Did Not Deserve To Be Forgotten

Too much fun to be had. Decent single player and amazing mp.
Anyone that remembers this game is there anything out there like it now? I'm not a fan of straight out races against 9 other cars or the clock. This was different.

How does someone with a Drakengard avatar not say Drakengard?
Drakengard is my answer btw. Nier gets all the underground love, while poor Drakengard gets left out in the cold.
My answers are:
Lock's Quest

Barely ever gets mentioned, maybe because outwardly it seems childish. But inside there's a lovely, heartfelt story, great sprite graphics, kickass soundtrack. Seriously. No foolin. And the game itself is an excellent take on the tire tower defense genre. I love Lock's Quest and the fact 5th probably won't ever make a second one pains me.

<3 it.

Little Big Adventure 1 & 2

Not necessarily entirely forgotten, but outside of a small group of devoted fans nobody's really talking about them anymore. And that's sad, because they're some of the best and most special PC action adventure games ever made!

Since there can never be enough mentions, Mischief Makers, Commander Keen, & Breath of Fire are some good ones from this thread. Also:

<-- If you know where this character in my avatar is from, we're cool peoples.
Startropics.

Cannon Spike was a game that I always enjoyed playing. In fact most dreamcast games can be included in this thread. BangiO is another one.

So many amazing games in this thread, I wanted to quote half the posts. It's depressing to think almost none of them will ever get a sequel, reboot or spiritual successor.

And I'll add...

Came to post this, I love this game so much.

Some other stuff:

A great original platforming game that looked amazing when it came out.

A really good 3rd person shooter that never gets mentioned anywhere.

One of the best fighting games ever.

BloodWillTellTezukaOsamusDororoJAPCOVER.jpg

It kind of got lost among the more famous PS2 3rd person action/adventure games but it doesn't deserve it, especially with crap like God of War getting all that praise.

A game that most people avoided but it gained a small cult following over time. It deserved more than that though, it's a truly exceptional game, one of the greatest JRPGs of all time. Probably my favorite battle system ever.

I still tend to play for a month or two every year. I actually had a decent 3 month or so stretch recently around the big February patch that added dual-wield and revamped melee skills. It's too bad there's no modernish spiritual successor, as AC2 was an EQ-esque attempted cashgrab abomination.

The sprite work in this game was beautiful.[/QUOTE]

a new gargoyles quest with this gen hardware or next would be amazing but capcom is to lame to do anything with it

quoted for size.

granted, one would have to know this game even exists in order to forget it, but it's a really one of my favorite games from this generation. great combat, solid art design, massive open world areas, fun mechanics, etc. feels like a proto-arkham asylum but with norse mythology/vikings instead of batman.

Back before they went stupid with Harvest Moon, Natsume published a couple awesome NES action games. Sadly I forgot their names. *sniff*

Also Ninja Five O!!!!!

I was going to mention The Mark of Kri with the below selections, but it seems others jumped on it before I could get to it. That sorta makes me happy though.

I would love to see the following two games get a solid remake or followup...

As time moves forward, I find less and less people mentioning Crystalis, one of my favorite games of all time. So much so that I always much prefered it over The Legend of Zelda, and I LOVE Zelda games...

And I haven't seen this game mentioned in a while. Also a personal favorite of mine, with an outstanding soundtrack - Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse...
