Games You've Beaten in April

  • Papers, Please (started it after purchasing it sometime around christmas lol, Playfire Rewards gave me the incentive to finally finish it)
  • FEZ
  • Batman Arkham City + DLC
  • Mirror's Edge

Ended up only finishing one game this month, The Witcher 2. May should be a lot better for me since I'm over halfway finished with several other games.

Here are the games I've beaten in the month of April:

- Ducktales: Remastered (Steam) on Hard difficulty
- Super Mario Bros. (Wii U VC)
- Super Mario Bros. 2 (All Stars edition - Wii)
- Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (Nintendo DS)

I finished:

inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4)- Another playthough. Think I'm on three?
Batman: Arkham City (PS3)- Plus game of the month, which I played through half a dozen times on the 360. I still really like it, but not as much as Asylum.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (PS3)- First time, shows its age a bit, but still really good. Shame we never got a fully fleshed out comic based sequel.
Marvel Heroes (PC)- Finished twice as Rocket Raccoon this month, once as Loki.

Not a very active month, there seems to be a theme to it, too.

In April I managed to finish 4 titles, surprisingly:

- inFAMOUS Second Son
- MotoGP 13
- Dead Nation
- Section 8

Now in May not only it's going to be more busy but it's also Dark Souls II PC month which means that it will be a huge time sink, but a good one. Will try to get and finish Child of Light. :)

Guild Wars 2 WvW Spring Tournament doesn't leave room for much more, so just Radiant Historia for #AtlusApril.
Incredible and unforgettable. One of those games that, after the creditroll, you sit there and wonder what to do with your life now.

MGR: Revengeance: Really liked the game and oh god, the boss fights are the best with kick ass soundtracks!

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune I haven't played the uncharted series as I was more of an xbox 360 guy in the beginning of last-gen, although I had a ps3 collecting dust. I realised how much I'm missing and decided to jump on some classics. I absolutely LOVED it and couldn't believe this was made 7 years ago!

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves: And I though it couldn't get any better, the direction they took with the flash back is simply amazing and left me intrigued the whole game. the entry sequence with the heist is spot on. All in all, it left me craving for more.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception: I started the game with high hopes. As usual, the beginning sequence of any Uncharted game is perfect, especially with different costumes than what you'll be playing for the rest of the game. I actually loved the huge flash back and knowing a little bit of background about Sullivan. The rest of the game felt a bit "bland" in a weird way and started to make me feel bored. Up until when I aboard the plane. Everything from that point onward just gets better and better. I finished the game completely satisfied from the last 4-5 chapters as they were amazingly varied and crafted. Now I want to see what creative direction they're going for in the new Uncharted.

I got this one when it came out back in March, but kept it mostly on hold until I felt done with Dark Souls II. Turned out it was really short, but satisfying. The narrative felt a little dull and redundant in the middle, but started and ended fairly strong. All the powers were fun to use, and I love that they upped the mobility in this one.

I enjoyed the first game a few years ago. This March I went through the second one a little each night before bed, and did the same with this third entry this month. I had heard this is the best story through the series. I think I'd agree, though I've liked all of them so far. I'm a little burnt out on these games after playing Box and Future in a row like that, so I'm taking a break before I try out the next ones.

I haven't played or thought about this one in a while. I think I purchased it the day it came out (or if not, within a few months of release). I remember being pretty off put by the controls. That hasn't really changed; the controls are still weird. For some reason, it looks like my file from before was on easy mode. That's really unlike me; I must have been frustrated with it or something. I at least did make it to chapter 8 though (out of ~10).

Anyway, that made me decide to just restart. The biggest problem I have with this game, is that it hurts. It literally, physically hurts me to play until I get full speed autofire (which you can't get until chapter 6 at earliest I think. I know it's more than halfway through.) You pretty much have to mash out blasts as fast as you can, occasionally stopping to do a quick roll to the side or jump. It's difficult at first, but once you get into a rhythm it isn't too insurmountable; most attacks are pretty easy to dodge, it's just tough to not get greedy with attacking. The last boss gave me a lot of trouble too, but I was really satisfied to finish it off. Couldn't imagine trying to get all the trials done though; there are plenty of them, and you have to get the highest ranking on each.

Last one for this month. It's another Cube game I've had around for 10 or 12 years. Made about 3/4 progress as a teenager, put in a little progress last summer. When I came back this time, there were probably 3 or 4 levels left, plus the boss. This game has it's issues, but overall I think I find the simplicity here kinda charming.

Goat Simulator (100% achievements)
and Type:Rider (100% as well)

Slow month. I blame Dark Souls 2.

Metroid Fusion. I was SO sure I had found everything. I mean, where could they have hidden more upgrades?

I found exactly 50%

Dark Souls II (100%)
Gravity Rush
Tearaway (Platinum trophy)
Lumines: Electronic Symphony (Played through voyage mode)
Smash Hit (Android game, highly recommended)

Played a lot of Diablo III: RoS. Just started Ys: Memories of Celceta.

I kind of played through Dark Souls 2. I cant really say that i finished the game alone because half the time i used the Co-op feature the beat bosses and when bosses where even too hard for that, i asked a good friend of mine to finish the boss for me.....

...but hey...

<- best dark souls player ever :)

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (4/4)
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (4/6)
Bayonetta (4/9)
Aliens: Colonial Marines (4/19)
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (4/21)
Retro City Rampage DX (4/22)
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons 4/23)
Castle of Illusion HD (4/24)

Bioshock Infinite

I wish the Burial at Sea chapters were cheaper. I'd be in at $5 apiece, but $15 each or $20 for both is a bit much. Even WTD's episodes were cheaper and arguably have more gameplay.

Titanfall-vs-Infamous-Second-Son-Sales.jpg

Will hopefully move on from Titanfall to some other titles (including returning to Infamous to finish evil run and Paper Trail). Almost thought I had Rayman Origins beat, but then it opened up further.

From last to first, It was a good month for my backlog

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3) replay
Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS3)
Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons (PS3)
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor's Legacy (PS3)
DmC: Devil May Cry (PS3)
Chronovolt (PSVita)
Deadly Premonition The Director's Cut (PS3)
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (PSVita)
Hotline Miami (PSVita)
Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty (PS3)
Heavenly Sword (PS3)
Dark Souls (PS3) replay
Guacamelee (PSVita) replay

Just The Wolf Among Us: Eps. 3. Didn't have enough time to beat anything else, too much to study.

Finally had a bit of time to finish parts of my backlog.

Metroid: Zero Mission
Super Metroid
Tearaway
Thomas was alone
Dragons Crown
Killzone: Mercenary

Back to the Future episodes 1-5. Not bad, but not great. A somewhat weak adventure game and a merely average continuation of the films. I did enjoy a slight payoff that occurs in episode 5 at least.

Tales of Monkey Island. My new fav Telltale game. Great job nailing the tone and feel of the older games. Lots of humor and a mostly engaging story as well. Surprised me given how little its discussed.

Bioshock Infinite DLC Good stuff. Disliked Infinite, but the DLC made some strong changes to the gameplay that I appreciated a bit more.

Dark Souls 2 (X360)... and that is all. That game consumed my gaming life save for some rounds of Hearthstone. Child of Light and South Park are up next.

I got nothing to show for lol I'm at the near end of everything I've been playing.

EDIT: Oh, oh Dragon Age :D (again, but on PC this time)
