Uncharted 2 SP blows MW2 away, and basically everything else. Nothing came close to it this year. Not A.Creed 2, not Infamous, not KZ2, and not Batman. They were all great, but U2 was far beyond all of that in quality.

In terms of what it does for the genre, it's as much worthy of a GOTY as Uncharted 2 or Assassins Creed 2 or Dragon Age, or even Forza 3, and shit some of these actually come up with some new shit in terms of game mechanics, however small they might be.

In which case something like Demon's Soul should win, as it actually DOES something with the genre that isn't just upping up the production values.

So unless you are rooting for Demon's Soul, or an other game i'm not familiar with, this whole complaining bs going on seems pretty lame to me.

At least Uncharted 2 was an improvement in pretty much every way.

MW2 was a downgrade in almost every single way. Worse SP, worse, unbalanced, zany ass multiplayer. MW2 is the Gears of War 2 of this year (in terms of MP, at least, to Gears of War 2's credit it had a great single player campaign unlike MW2).

This. And Uncharted 2 have the best visuals in a console game. MW2 can't say the same even in its genre. Killzone 2 says "hi!"

Uncharted 2's multiplayer is better. The core gameplay is more fun and engaging with better modes, the online infrastructure and netcode is superior, and the map designs are better and feature platforming/verticality.

The only thing Uncharted 2 doesn't do better than MW2 is with the depth of the experience system, customization and unlockables. But frankly, all of that got pretty old in MW2 quite quickly and made the experience an unbalanced mess, I keep coming back to Uncharted 2 since the core gameplay is much stronger.

Lol opinions indeed. Guess I'm not allowed to have mine. And I am SHOCKED you thought there were two games on the list better than Uncharted 2 - PS3 Exclusive. But hey, that's your opinion. None of those games were even close to U2 imo, stop your usual course.

Oh well, PS3 won best software of the year, and Uncharted 2 won numerous awards (GOTY as well) elsewhere. There may have been a couple bad days for Jyettis, but it's been a bad year for Keikoku.

Wow. Have you even played the game? Monster closets are usually bullshit blocked off hallways devoid of any purpose except to hold bad guys until they explode onto the scene right next to you. MW2 has enemies that crack open doors enough to put their gun out and blind fire for a few seconds before opening up and exiting. These areas make sense, and there are purposes to all of these so called "closets". And without the infinite spawning enemies, yeah, its a way better setup than previous Call of Duty games.

The controls are flawless, the game runs smooth, the action never stops, and there is plenty of variety in the levels, objectives, and modes. I can see people not liking the game but it shouldn't surprise people so that this game is getting the kudos it does deserve.

When I read it here, I thought it was a joke until I saw the videos. Gametrailers really failed hard. Shouldn't the nominees for best 360 or ps3 game be exclusive to each respective game console?

Do the editors of gametrailers actually feel some sort of embarrassment or is this some type of resume to Infinity Ward? Not even Forza 3 or Demon's souls were nominated.

How is the core gameplay much better?it's pretty much a standard 3ps shooter with some of cod4 features tacked on. Map designs are better because u2 is a platforming game. You don't platform in cod, it's not part of the gameplay. Without the platforming the map design of u2 would be extremely uninspiring.   

Its funny you say the only thing cod does is the exp system when that one feature is what made cod4 the de facto console MP experience. Lol that's like saying the only thing makes U2 better than game x is the storyline and set pieces. 

All of that got pretty old to you. But to the vasttttt majority of players they still love cod's system. Its still the most entertaining MP experience on the consoles and you can see it's influence in U2. The same system you say you dislike is the same system u2 tried to emulate with leveling up, addons and unlockables.
