100% yes, but you'll need to go into it with a certain frame of mind, namely, understanding that it's a tough game with quite a steep learning curve; you can be sure that others will be making it VERY clear to you (with their shotguns) that you're an absolute noob.

That being said, being even half-decent at this game is akin to MP nirvana, so the juice is worth the squeeze. There's no other game like it that runs that well and is that satisfying; a truly unique MP experience and a definite system seller.

I decided to use my IO code from the controller. I took pics....

This proves that I don't own the limited, Epic Edtion or the console. This is a direct result from using the IO code that came with the controller.

Check my gamertag. It would say if I was/had played Gears 3. Seriously, if I had that shit, you guys would know.
 
That's cool. Have they said if they are a limited run? I don't need one now since my current red controller works fine, but like all things Microsoft this generation the shit breaks sooner rather than later, and I was probably going to pick up one of these as a spar later this year for the holidays.
 
How many times in the past two days has GAF/ a Gaffer been the source of new info?

Those forums would still be fighting over what's what if people here didn't step in and sort shit out.

Yup. I was keeping up with that thread the whole time while people were insulting him and and calling him a troll. Given all the screwu....er, misunderstandings where the skins are concerned, I was surprised people were so adamant, to the point that they felt it was ok to belittle the guy.

Now, I'm trying to beg a spare Adam Fenix off someone. Who knew that a limited edition would really be limited? I should have I guess, but I waited too long to get my preorder upgraded, and gamestop ran out.

So someone asked Rod if there was going to be a day one patch, specifically adding characters such as Bernie and the Onyx Guard

PR talk is usually convoluted. Perhaps there will be an update, but not for those characters. Still, it may be safe to say that what we've seen IS what we will get on release. In other words, nothing will change and nothing will be added.

So all skins...yeah...be prepared to buy that shit :P
 
So...

- Two maps, that were mostly complete, taken out of the game
- The full IO set included with the controller
- A shit load of monetized weapon skins
- Adam Fenix included with the controller
- Bernadette and the Onyx Guard (perhaps others too), taken out of the game

The bold has happened in the past few hours. Just saying...

after reading through that thread on the epic forums I went and entered my controller code to see if this was true and it seems like I have the "Console Bundle" too. looks like MS fucked up again.

Bernie and Onyx Guard are a few of the characters available in DLC 1 coming in November.

I'm trying to give Epic the benefit of the doubt. It's easier to think that they went to MS with the complete game and MS said "wtf you could be charging for this shit! Now take some of that out and put it into extra DLC." It's easier to demonize MS than to think that this is the direction Epic decided to go in on their own.

I was going to get the season pass anyway so I don't really mind this. I understand people being bothered by it but I'm not.
 
Rod had to apologize after saying one thing, and being wrong because someone else made a mistake. Bravo to who is running the behind the scenes stuff.

And this Disc-Locked-Content stuff is getting old.
 
This is what happens when you announce a "Season Pass" and then suddenly realize OH FUCK you need content for it.
 
Again, there will not be a day one patch, at least according to Rod's (somewhat vague) statement earlier. And because of that, we can safely assume that all of those weapon skins are, in fact, monetized and can only be purchased. Until Epic says otherwise, based on the info we have, you're gonna have to pay for that shit.
 
seems like lots of people are getting their copies. was there any news on a bundled map pack? or are we just getting the 10 until the first DLC hits in november?

Those skins are either:
A)sold individually
B)Some of them come with the map packs
C)They are unlocked by playing in weekend/holiday events
It's one of those.
