People keep saying this, but Motoko wasn't naked in that scene in the original movie either. Her thermoptic camo suit is just very tight, sheer, and close to skin tone in colour.

Notice the neckline, and the creases when she kneels?

It's more obvious in the daytime scene.

The action live action version of the suit is actually pretty faithful, they've just added some more detailing to it.

Motoko was never naked in those scenes from the original movie. Yes MK's nipples were emphasized and she wore a flesh colored outfit, but she was not truly naked.

Motoko was never naked in those scenes from the original movie. Yes MK's nipples were emphasized and she wore a flesh colored outfit, but she was not truly naked.

It makes more sense that the suit was translucent, not flesh coloured. Honestly, I wish they'd returned to the manga vision of thermoptic camo not requiring skin tight suits. I still maintain that the change in the anime was fan service, and I'm not a big fan of the new movie's halfway house approach to it.

If it's good I hope it does well. The western actors make me think they want the movie to penetrate a new / bigger audience than just anime fans. Though I feel I would like it better if it had Asian actors. Let's see what happens, I'm open minded about it.

Movie trailers often have blood censored out (unless they're red-band trailers) so I wouldn't be surprised if the final film was more bloody than the trailers would lead you to believe.

For an excellent, recent example of this, go see Logan and then check out some of the non-red band trailers for the movie. I was actually surprised at how much was different between the trailers and the movie in various scenes.

That Remix isn't very good, in fact I'd say its downright terrible compared to the original.

On a side note though, I'm really not feeling ScarJo's suit, it just doesn't fit IMO.The skin colored suit really just seems to me like a way to ape the 95 film while still getting that PG rating. I would honestly have preferred the SAC trenchcoat/combat uniform or even the Major's uniform in the manga since those look great and would still probably give the movie the age rating it wants.

The song is so bad, it overshadows some of the other stupid shit in that trailer, such as the stupid looking wire action and the fact that Saito now has an socket instead of his hawkeye.
