Excellent taste, since both are Satoshi Kon joints.![]()
Ahhh right, that's probably how I found Perfect Blue after seeing Paprika. I think I bought Millennium Actress too but never got around to watching it.

It's too bad they lost the rights to the best music in the series thanks to it being plagiarized

If you want to see the good stuff, seek out movies, not TV shows. The budget spent on animation is comparable, but instead of spreading it out over dozens of hours, they can pour everything into 90 minutes.
Oh, this is definitely the route I already take. Like I said, I love movies produced by Madhouse and Studio Ghibli. Even though I thought movies like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars had a really stupid stories, Madhouse did a great job on the animation, and the movies look beautiful.
It also helps that I am too lazy and impatient to sit through an entire season of anime. Having all the story told to me in one short sitting is preferable.
And, yeah, it is kind of a shame that most people equate anime to the low quality mainstream TV BS. Like, Alex and Rorie are huge film buffs, and I would love to hear what they would have to say about Satoshi Kon's films, but they seem to only mention Miyazaki films when talking about anime movies. They don't even seem to acknowledge non-Miyazaki Ghibli movies.

Was the Games Journalism Hunger Games recorded and/or streamed? Can't find any reference of it on Gamespot.
How long until PAX Royal Rumble? I suck at timezones.
Somebody should make a Royal Rumble thread, including all promos.
Is the Royal Rumble not going to be streamed either?!
Danny said it would go up sometime this weekend.
The Metal Gear videos are seriously depressing me. I'm not interested in anything the site has to offer anymore except that feature. It's like a drug.
Want to know the winner? Was the Games Journalism Hunger Games recorded and/or streamed? Can't find any reference of it on Gamespot.
Does anybody know when the Royal Rumble is going to start? I think it said 8:30am pacific. Am I correct? Also where is it going to be streamed at, Twitch?
I hope a new MGS releases today. That would be a treat.
Monday is a Holiday in the USA so Wednesday at the earliest but I think priority is podcast and getting the pannal up asap.I'm pretty sure we'll have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday.

As much as Giant Bomb has been building up Dan winning the Rumble and finally facing Alex, I'm starting to have my doubts. If he gets an early number I can't see him mowing through as much of the opposition as Alex did last year. There has to be a target on his back.
Hey I want to jump on the $35 membership sale but wont be able to do it until tomorrow.
Will it still be available then?

I mean, to be fair, giantbomb for the most part actually dislikes anime.
Thing is who gives a shit, really.

I also like j-pop, which probably means I'm the antichrist.
What about k-pop?

Pretty sure Jeff gets into his j-pop. He played that Charisma.com LP a lot.I also like j-pop, which probably means I'm the antichrist.
You guys are forgetting how dumb hollywood action movies can be. Rewatch Escape from LA, it's pretty much Metal Gear without the giant robots.
Pretty sure Jeff gets into his j-pop. He played that Charisma.com LP a lot.
But like Antiwhippy said, who cares what anyone likes, really?
First thing, did you change your avatar?
Second thing, Kpop seems to be nowadays mostly girls doing sexy dances? Are bands like Jaurim or Seo Taiji still active?
You could ask Rorie, but AFAIK it is specifically a sale to attract fresh new subs.Am I unable to use the sale to upgrade to a yearly subscription if I am a monthly subscriber? I only see the $49.99 option for the yearly subscription.

What music video is this?
That Call On Me remix that came out a few years ago maybe? Eric Prydz I think was the dude who did it.
fun factEric Prydz - Call on me
Going into tangent a bit, which recent years JPop bands / artists would you recommend? I was into J-pop, but went into more rock, metal, and jazz for the past 5 - 10 years.
I seriously cannot tell the difference between the K-pop and J-pop idol scene, other than K-pop mostly tries to crib from the American pop scene and J-pop just tries to be cutesy.
