It's all on Sony for not properly leveraging this common, shared architecture, which was already shown when Pro launched and games ran the same as on the base model, unless patched. They just need to sort this thing out if they want to be more effective when it comes to cross-gen, mid-gen and PC compatibility.
That's just one side of the coin tho, the other is all the fanboys who spawned infinite amount of "INSTANT loading!", "NO loading times!", "no bottleneck design" etc. posts for a good year right after the "Road to PS5" presentation, it's exactly those same people who now desperately try to find an excuse whenever that's not the case at all, "but but but! it's BC not native!", "there's no PS5 version of the game!" and so on, like, who gives a shit, that's how the hame runs on PS5, deal with it.
So whenever someone mentions that a game loads faster on PC/XB, you just know damn well it's a poke/jab to all those "onboard engineers" and their BS, and like Todd Howard said - "it's just works!", they immediately show up to defend their beloved plastic box and their theories. Maybe some day people will learn not to take as granted something that hasn't been even shown yet, maybe.
But anyway, maybe Sony will port GoW to use PS5 full potential, maybe there will be a DC version somewhere around summer to refresh the game before Ragnarok, I can definitely see Sony doing it, they just need to figure out how/where to extend the content, something like new game + and new weapons/costumes like in older games would be cool.
