I... thought that was staged. Or was that the other time they "broke" the camera.

Still, they're rather douchey and pretentious (in the actual meaning of the word)

When Wayne Coyne says you're pricks, you're probably pricks.

It doesn't matter, they were literally EVERYWHERE on the internet at the end of last year.

Really? I didn't notice at all.

Question: Do performers get paid to perform on this stage? OR do they have to pay the Grammy association to perform there.

OR it is mutually beneficial deal, the performer gets to advertise their song/album, and the Grammys get a big name performer without paying a buck.

?

Not if you just listen to pop music. Arcade Fire's not going to feature on radio stations.

I don't listen to the radio, I am a hip hop fan though. Will go check out Arcade Fire tonight, they only have 1 album out?

Hey guys. Kanye West tweeted about Arcade Fire. Maybe you should post it 5 more times.
wow, people are quick. That wasn't even posted when I hit submit.

I'm already preparing myself for Kanye not to win. Everyone in the media is in love with Nicki and I can easily see her winning.
really? I haven't heard one Nicki Minaj song on the radio, like, ever. Kanye's AOTL gets played constantly, though. I think Minaj has a chance for Rap album of the year, but there's no way she'll beat Kanye for overall album of the year.

KanyeGAF we need to get together and put together our perfect Kanye grammy performance. It would need to be the stage equivalent of "Runaway".

Dark Fantasy up until the second verse then lead into All of the Lights right as Alicia Keys sings "Can we Get Much Higher"

Suddenly, Teyana Taylor, Rihanna, Elly Jackson, Drake, Elton John on the Piano, Kid Cudi, Skylar Grey ( Singing Fergie's part ), Dwele, John Legend, Charlie Wilson, The-Dream all get on stage to do a performance of All of the Lights from start to finish with a light show and confetti raining down from the ceiling.

Kanye then wins Album of the year, and gets back on stage.

Performs, So Appalled with full crew, Jay-Z, Pusha T, CyHi, Swizz, and RZA doing a surprise verse at the end, this will lead to John Legend coming back on stage taking the Piano and him and Kanye doing a performance of Blame Game in a dark room with the spotlight shining on them similar to Jay Z and Coldplay a few years ago.

They have The Suburbs, Neon Bible, Funeral, and The Arcade Fire.

Check out Funeral (considered their best) and The Suburbs (what they just won for and their most easy to get into / mainstream).

Some indie band no one's heard of won a stooopid award. BIG WHOOP. Can we change the topic of conversation to Rihanna's universe-shattering thighs now?

All this snub talk is making me sad.

Lets talk about how great it is that Esperanza won and how Skylar shit on Rihanna. :)

Then the show ends with Big Sean and J. Cole coming out for a performance of Looking For Trouble.

Seriously, how do people not know about Arcade Fire? Maybe it's just because I'm in college and know a bunch of hipster fucks who love them, but I was under the impression that most people had at least heard of them.

But Wayne Coyne is also kind of a dick- in regards to that documentary about the Flaming lips that came out awhile back.
Fearless Flying Freaks? I have that documentary. Where does Wayne come off as a dick? Dude seems like the chillest, coolest guy alive.

Just his attitude towards other people's self destructive habits, i suppose.

I've never heard of them. They don't sound bad at all. Maybe I missed something :/

Either way, I'll be checking out their music along with Skylar's after tonight.

Same. Then again I am in Canada.

All three are uniquely great, if you ask me. Just take it from the start and work your way forward. My personal favorite is Neon Bible but, like, NO ONE agrees with me, so meh.

It's like the Stones Roses and Second Coming

Unless you yourself listen to indie music or know people who listen to indie music you aren't going to know who they are. Before tonight they had no real spotlight in the mainstream media.

That's pretty awesome Arcade Fire won.

I'd heard of them a ton from GAF, but generally think GAF-music's taste is awful. Amazon's MP3 store had both The Suburbs and Funeral for $5 each, so I bit just for the hell of it. The Suburbs is actually a pretty great album. Perfect for a driving album. I'm pretty shocked they won album of the year.

They were on Conan over a year ago so I was aware of them. I've tried to avoid listening to them since.

Maybe people just don’t know what they’re listening to?

i think neon bible is their best work too buddy.

Arcade Fire's wasn't that great either. So many other, better, choices.
There were other albums I liked more, but there was zero chance of them being nominated. Suburbs was top 10 of the year for me anyway.

Uh, The Suburbs is all over the radio.

The Suburbs
Ready To Start
Rococo
Modern Man
We Used to Wait

all have gotten pretty heavy play

no u

No Cars Go + Antichrist Television Blues + The Well and the Lighthouse
okay all of the songs are perfect.

Funeral is by far the best album to start with, but Neon Bible is a leap above and beyond in terms of thematic and sonic structure.

Ed: 'Purple Rain'?
Shaun: No.
Ed: 'Sign o' the Times'?
Shaun: Definitely not.
Ed: The 'Batman' soundtrack?
Shaun: Throw it.
Ed: 'Dire Straits'?
Shaun: Throw it.
Ed: Ooh, 'Stone Roses'.
Shaun: Um, No.
Ed: 'Second Coming'.
Shaun: I like it!
Ed: Ahhh! 'Sade'.
Shaun: Yeah, but that's Liz's!
Ed: Yeah, but she did dump you.
Shaun: Oh!

No worries, Taylor Swift is going to beat Kanye West next year.
If you pay off the Academy with enough money, yeah probably. Props to Swift on the breakout success with her album, I gotta respect that, but beating Yeezy? nope.avi.

Kanye West vs. Kanye West vs. Kanye West & Jay-Z. Believe.

When and if I see Cole run on stage at a Yeezy show, I'll break out into tears of joy right there.

Imagine J. Cole running in and adding a verse to So Appalled? The hip hop verse would literally implode with the sheer amount of EPIC. And that is a proper use of the word epic right there.

What kind of Radio Stations? If you lived in fancy schmancy New York, L.A., or some college town, then yeah, you're gonna hear them. I heard Rebellion in the cafeteria a couple of days ago.

If you lived in po-dunk, nowhere, their songs are probably not on the radio.

Where do you live? I've never heard an Arcade Fire song on the radio in the U.S.
