Such a fucking awesome performance. I miss the unhinged sound of Funeral. My favorites were Tunnels, Rebellion and In the Backseat (which was probably the first song to ever make me tear up).Justin said:
This is the truth here. I've spun Funeral pretty much every winter ever since '04, it's perfect for when the days start growing shorter and colder.Firestorm said:Tunnels is the best song on Funeral.

Wow , didn't know another gaffer was there. That big sur show was great. I didn't get to stay after . I drive down from Sacramento and my friend had to work the next day, so we left right away.jstevenson said:I feel lucky enough to have followed AF for some time, and to have been at their 300-capacity show in the woods in Big Sur just a few months ago and gotten to hang out and talk to all of them afterwards. So crazy to see them win. Everyone looked stunned at the upset.

I thought about reinstalling my Civ 4 once just so I could rip the mp3.luxarific said:So Baba Yetu won"Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s)". First time video game music has ever won a grammy, I believe.

Yup, by far. Gotta tip my hat to Rihanna for the shaking though.Korey said:Em/Dre with the best performance of the night so far. Everything else has been mediocre

Oh yea, Bruno Mars, Janelle Monae, and Cee Lo were good too.Discotheque said:Cee Lo and Mick Jagger disagree. Oh and Bruno Mars was great too as was Janelle Monae.
Mmmhmm. I think it's my favorite Arcade Fire song. ^_^Firestorm said:Tunnels is the best song on Funeral.

Purexed said:WTF was that Dre song?!? It's not that it's bad, but it sounded like that Airplanes song, remixed. Disappointed that Detox took so long and he's leading with this POP song...

Month of May is the worst song on the album and I can't freaking believe they played it. But the album is otherwise incredible (all three of theirs are) and I'm so glad they won.![]()
Theres no way that's not a song off Detox, the album is right around the corner. I hope I'm wrong...Deadly Cyclone said:Not quite sure how you got that.
Is Doctor even confirmed to be on Dre's album? I thought it was on a re-release of Recovery or something?

They are a pretty well known band.
Especially when it's called "I Need A Doctor" and talks about Dre's son dying.Purexed said:Theres no way that's not a song off Detox, the album is right around the corner. I hope I'm wrong...

To whom exactly? They're on an indie label and don't exactly have the mainstream presence of say, Greenday. Hell the average radio listener has never even heard of The Flaming Lips. I've always viewed AF as being on the same level as Wolf Parade or Animal Collective, they're well known in indie circles, but aren't accessible enough to be widely known in the mainstream.Dabanton said:Are some people seriously saying they haven't heard of Arcade Fire?

Purexed said:Pardon my ignorance, but what's the date ranges that music has to be released in to be considered for the Grammys this year? I'm guessing Kanye released his opus outside the qualification periods?!?
Yes. It's the first official single from Detox and Dre has said multiple times I Need A Doctor is an indication of what the album will be like. Kush was just a fun sounding track that will be included on the album, but Dre put it out cause he liked it even though it doesn't fit the album thematically.Deadly Cyclone said:Not quite sure how you got that.

Well I live in the US, and the average person here doesn't care about anything beyond what's on the local radio station. You listen to something the least bit obscure and you're branded a hipster for some reason. It's pretty awesome really.Dabanton said:I find it baffling and sad how many people are not seeking out and discovering music
You have a world full of music besides well publicised stuff like Lady Gaga and Jay- Z and Katy Perry.
