okay all of the songs are perfect.

Funeral is by far the best album to start with, but Neon Bible is a leap above and beyond in terms of thematic and sonic structure.
probably the best song of the 00s... probably.

I have never heard of lady antebellum or skylar grey before tonight...am I a bad person?

Nope, but a LOT of people are just now discovering skylar grey even though they've probably heard her in a few things.

My take on a Kanye performance: Open the show with All of the Lights, with RiRi, John Legend and Elton John. Segue into Flashing Lights Pt. II with Jay-Z, Eminem and Charlie Wilson. Close the show with Lost in the World with Elly Jackson and Alicia Keys.

And all of this will be the cherry on the sundae that he started one week before when he delivers an incredible, jaw dropping performance during half time at the Super Bowl.

There is no way Kanye is going to lose. He'll have 3 albums by 2012.

aotl will be huge

that's my bitch will be a hit

all he has to do is name the summer album A Good as Job and it'll go platinum.

Plus the academy still has to repent for snubbing 808's and Heartbreak

This man speaks the truth.

MBDTF front to back. Runaway truncated a bit. RZA doing an impromptu verse on I'm So Appalled. All of the Lights played so loud the entire fucking country can hear that shit. John Legend showing up to do live piano on Blame Game. Kanye ascending to heaven at the end of Lost in the World.

Oh KanyeGAF, I missed you guys so much <3

THIS MUST HAPPEN.

What song did they play that you disliked so much? Their music spans a pretty diverse range.

Apparently it was back in 2007. Didn't realize it was that long ago. According to youtube it was Laika.

Actually, that was in '05 (man, time flies). One of the best Late Night performances ever!

I guess I can understand why someone who isn't a fan would hate what they saw, though.

Where do you live? I've never heard an Arcade Fire song on the radio in the U.S.
93xrt in Chicago plays them constantly.

I just noticed that someone already mentioned that though. I guess I assumed similar stations in other markets did the same.

That's too bad. I think you should still give Funeral a spin. Most of the music on Funeral doesn't sound like Laika, just like most of the music on The Suburbs doesn't sound like Month of May.

Wow, at Arcade Fire. The Suburbs is growing on me, though I still think it's far from their best work. Still, leagues better than the other nominees, sheesh.

Oh my god, yes yes yes.

Could you imagine.. All of the Lights chorus being sung by Elly Jackson, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Teyana Taylor and Skylar Grey in unison.

please yeezy, I'm dying over here, give us our All of the Lights, give it to us, please.

This is blowing my mind. Are Arcade Fire really not that well known? Fuck man. I swear they were bigger than this...

LOL

Didn't it miss the cutoff?
it also sucked.

daft punk should go like justice and the "electronic" scene and disappear. can't believe people were doing raves in 08. glad the fad died.

there work doesn't translate well to just casual listening. some of their songs are commercial but not what people are looking for. i just don't see people bumping rococo.

Doesn't help they're on an indie label either.

win and co are probably stubborn. they could be making a lot more money if they wanted too. splitting royalties between seven members must suck, even if win get's the bigger share for writing the songs.

I think they're going to absolutely hate the recognition this brings, heh.

That "I Need A Doctor" song gives me hope for Detox.

Way better than that shitty Eminem/Rhianna song everyone seems to like so much.

heh I actually liked Kush more. It's not as good as Still Dre or anything but it had the same cheesy-likeness.

Laika is one of their worst songs!

...what?!

Either way, super happy about Arcade Fire taking album of the year (not that the Grammys are relevant to me but...still nice to see AF get some recognition)

This guy on the radio here in Chicago this morning was doing a run-down of the Grammy's. They asked him all these questions and he kept saying stuff like "Well Eminem will win album of the year even though Arcade Fire should win" and "Drake will win best new artist even though Spalding should win"... anyways, each one of those people he said "should" win ended up winning.

Woulda been nice to see my man Em get the Grammy, but I don't even think his was the best hip hop album from last year, let alone best all around album.

Good job to arcade fire!
