I know, it's good to have a choice and all, but for me, a Zonda is probably the most boring supercar out there.

That new Stratos looks really, really great. I hope they'll redesign the Delta as well.

Had no idea Lancia was making a new Stratos. Looks sexy.

As for the Delta redesign, they did:

My controller times are a lot faster.

I'm pretty bad with the wheel atm. it's annoying me. I seem to make too many mistakes per race.

pretty much everyone is like that at first, but prologue is still very controller friendly even on pro imo, the TT demo was much better with a wheel

I wonder if the events planned for Top Gear track will be based on tests and shootouts they do in car tests...like the Evo/Impreza one were Jeremy attempts to drive close to plastic rally spectators :lol I'd love this not to be a coincidence...

Good eye. Both cars were drifting in the trailer too, just like Jeremy tried on that episode of Top Gear.

Wow, good catch.

And Top Gear challenges would be awesome.

The official website confirmed that there are going to be some sort of special events on the TG Test Track. We just don't know exactly what they are at the moment. Of course there is that scene in the AGS trailer where the two cars are outrunning a plane. But that could've just been something that they put together for the trailer.

Huh totally missed that. I mean that it was mentioned on the website.

Another thing I missed was if it was confirmed that there will be karts in this. I remember someone mentioning it but I didnt follow up on it.

HYPE! HYPE! HYPE! HYPE!

Yes, I would like to know more about my most anticipated game ever.

Why did they have to make the GT Academy demo expire? It felt so good with my G25. Viper, I think you will be in for a really big treat when you get to drive on professional with the updated physics.

When is the conference on Tuesday? I have been told that its at 6pm Germany time, but according to the Gamescon site its at 7pm. Anyone know for sure?

Because it was simply meant to be for that competition as well as for a competition in the US and Japan. It really wasn't meant to be a traditional demo.

Everywhere I've seen says 6.00pm CET/5.00pm BST.

What that is for North America, who knows. You people have way too many time zones over there.

Regarding physics..has there been an updated, non biased comparison between the latest GT offering and that of Forza?

There's no real way to do a comparison yet since no one has been allowed to spend enough time with the physics engine.

Still love to have that TT for practice. I know they final game physics will most likely be tweaked more but after doing the TT it's very hard to hit up GT5P.

Where was everyone at when we were talking about the Evo and STI clip from the vid when it was unveiled and people thought it would be tied into the special events, not just done up to mock the show coverage? :lol

That user made montage of PD clips really goes to show what also separates PD from the others is they have that uncanny ability to show off cars as art. Nobody comes close to that in this regard.

I'm genuinely giddy as a school girl here for this game (being a car nut adds to that obviously). It's been a long time since I was this excited for a game. There's so much packed into this game, it maybe the new pinnacle of gaming this console gen, a sim-racer of all games. That is if it "plays" the part, which is the key factor regardless to everything else. Oh well, just a few months to find out.

Somewhere not following a megathread.

Probably more worried about that haters sanctuary thread talking about how they were all deeply ill-struck, betrayed, and broken hearted over not all 1000+ cars having premium models and interiors. That's a shame they don't though, as those same people had a midnight revelation apparently as before that would say, "lol, who cares about that many cars, I'll just use 4 of them", and they now appreciate all of said cars suddenly, dreams crushed. :(

I only watched the other one. Did they say anything about his misshift at 2:55? You can lose a lot of time there that way ... Also that looked very uncomfortable in the carousel. :lol

Bloody hell though how fast that thing crosses the straight. Mind blowing. He was fiddling with his seat a bit and it was over. Last time I drove on that it was in a 1.2l Panda. :lol

This track though, one of my dreams is driving this in GT5 in 3D - the depth of this wildly undulating track is what makes a huge difference between reality and driving this in a game/sim, and I can't wait to see what 3D brings in that regard. Will I be as scared of diving down or as impressed with driving up those steep slopes as I was the first time in reality?

If it works, then the only thing missing will be the G-Forces, which, believe it or not are enough even in a Panda to keep you from being able to breathe for a second or two when you go from a steep slope downwards straight into an uphill.

Except that the Evo in GT5 is just the GSR, the Evo in that Top Gear was the FQ360, which has 360hp vs the GSR 290-ish.

So he hasn't done it. Is it because the car is old and they really only test current cars or because they'd need to get someone to loan them it? I'd really like to see how it stacked up against modern super cars. Specifically the Veyron.

I reckon the McLaren could be quicker around the track. When they did the drag race with the McLaren and Veyron, the Veyron only really pulled away once it properly got up to speed, although Ron Dennis alleged the drag race film was staged to let the Veyron win, so who knows.

But in any case, over a short track, I'd say the McLaren could still be the fastest. Although they did they did just put the newer Veyron around and it stormed to the top, so who knows. And they probably would need someone to loan one to them, and I doubt it would be McLaren :lol

Like the one poster pointed out, it was faster than a far more power CCX, meaning it had to have been carrying so much more speed in the turns. I don't remember if the driver commented on the misshift, but I know there was one in there, and once he hit the grass too. So it wasn't even a perfect run, could have been faster.

Meh, can easily be done via BPU mods. Those FQ models aren't really anything special. They just sport mods commonly found on the cars, just they slap a warranty on the car instead of voiding it. :D

Their pricing is a rip off on them.

Pretty sure Richard Hammond admitted that the race was staged in favour of the F1 in order to make it more intreresting.

That's what I think also. But as far as I know they've only been compared in a drag race (on Top Gear). But I can't really blame anyone for not wanting to loan them the car to test in a race track scenario.

no chance that the mclaren could beat the veyron.
did you now that the veyron was specifically build so that you can 4 wheel spin/drift from standing start..in 3rd gear!

I'm not surprised they don't get loaned one; in one of the early seasons (the actualities may be a little off here) it was something along the lines of the Stig drove a classic car that belonged to a museum/owners club and melted the engine from doing doughnuts and such. It made a few papers (Daily Mail obviously) but a few others as well. I can't remember if it belonged to a club or an individual, but whoever it was was not very happy.

Those guys are untouchable. They have the British army on their side. Clarkson would lead the charge against all those against Top Gear in a lime green fiesta.

The Stig damaged quite a few cars already though, but people don't care, considering the publicity they get via that show for their cars.

In most situations, the f1 and veyron would be pretty equal.

Their power/weight ratios are almost the same: f1=550hp/tonne veyron=529hp/tonne.
