Grand Theft Auto |OT| NO GIANT SHARKS

Who is Yusef's VA? Sounds like i've heard him before.

Omid Djalili, British-Iranian comedian.

Also, one thing I really hope they do is keep the melee attacks satisfying like in IV, but get rid of the sluggishness, and add in stuff like grapples and environmental moves. Sucker punching people in IV never got old, but the fighting in Red Dead was awful, and lacked the same impact.

Heh and I just watched The Infidel on Netflix a couple days ago.

I totally agree.

I remember actually liking those cage fighting missions Luis had in Ballad of Gay Tony. But the melee combat in Red Dead was pretty lacking. Kinda weird since I feel the total opposite about the gunplay. Mediocre in IV, much better in Red Dead.

Something that would be great is if they add in Map functionality to the phone so you don't have to pause the game all the time.

Like Menu >> Contacts >> Set waypoint

or

Menu >> Locations >> Vinewood Bowl >> Set waypoint

Has anyone been able to play any type of multiplayer game on the PC of late?

I've been trying to get in on some Lost and The Damned Bike races, or deathmatches, or anything with no luck!

I have an RDR question and this may be the best place to ask. I have a non GOTY edition copy of the game on the Xbox 360 and I already bought the Undead Nightmare on Live a long time ago. I'm considering just picking up the GOTY edition of $20 for the other DLC packs that I don't have (I'm thinking about messing around with the coop stuff) and for the hardcore difficulty mode.

My question is how is the GOTY edition stuff handled? Is there codes in the box for the DLC or is there a second disc with the DLC? If I already own Undead Nightmare is there any way for me to get the DLC I don't already own and give Undead Nightmare to someone else or is everything bundled together?

http://gaming.stackexchange.com/que...-included-in-red-dead-redemption-goty-edition

The additional DLC to which they are referring include:

Liars and Cheats
Outlaws to the End
Legends and Killers
Free Roam Pack
The Hunting and Trading Pack
Myths and Mavericks
Solomon's Folly (previously unavailable on Xbox 360)

The game comes in a two-disc set, with disc one containing the main storyline and Undead Nightmare, as well as the DLC; the second disc contains the game's multiplayer.

Do you mean the actual move where you target someone and the reticle turns into a red square and you knock them out in one punch? Because in the all the times I've played GTA IV, I've never been able to pull it off anywhere except the tutorial for it. For ages I've been meaning to look into it and figure out wtf I'm doing wrong.

I was replaying IV last week on a new XBL account just to do the achievements all over (sans pigeons and MP) and good lord is the Finish Him one easier by the HeliTours place.

I did it by the casino in Alderney my first time through and it was a pain in the bollocks.

Nah, I was referring to locking on, then unleashing a punch on someone walking past to send them stumbling around. No idea how to execute that particular move outside of the tutorial either.

Wanted to make sure these awesome Rockstar deals didn't get missed in the GTA OT.

These are all for PC versions of the games and DLC, redeemable through Steam.

Prices just now switched over. Here are the deals:

Some deals say unavailable but they just aren't up yet. Don't panic!

That reminds me just how horribly San Andreas runs on my laptop. I mean it's not a great laptop, but it's not too old. Has 4 GB RAM, i3 quad core, etc. and yet San Andreas is choppy as hell. Sucks.

Holding out hope for an iOS port. Sounds crazy, but the GTA iOS ports are really good on a technical level :lol

Lol, I haven't been able to max out SA on my PC or laptopp until I upgraded my rig last year. Still, good times.

I know this thread is about GTA but I'm replaying RDR and I've just been reminded that this game is a fucking masterpiece. I hope a lot of Red Dead rubs off on GTA V.

Apparently this is true. Dynamic side missions for example. The combat. Although, that's just been improving since GTA IV. I guess you could say the bullet time ability as well.

  • Dynamic side missions
  • Wildlife
  • Combat
  • Graphics (colors!)
  • Slowmo
  • Improved AI
  • Dynamic, original soundtrack
  • Improved weather effects

I think these are all point they'll be taking from RDR.

Yeah, I'm really hyped for the soundtrack.

And the interaction with pedestrians and random roadside events/dynamic side missions will all be great additions for GTA I think. They really helped make Red Dead's world feel alive.

The Dynamic Soundtrack is soooooooo well implemented in RDR and the Dynamic side missions are exactly what GTA needs.

The way Dan Houser described it in one interview, it sounds even better here.
He said it will change based on our gameplay actions, so for example in a chase, if you keep going at full speed the music will ramp up, but if you smash into a wall, it will abruptly "stop" (or change) to match the action on the screen.

If they can pull this idea off, it should get hectic.

What about radio stations then? How it will work during missions?

It's still unclear, really.
We know there will be both radio stations and original music.
We don't know the details of the implementation, since they were still ironing those out.

Holy shit at that map. I imagine xbox 360 will be multiple discs and have framerate problems no? I'm so excited. This game is going to finish this 8 year xbox 360 gen for me.

I don't know if I like this special ability/arcade feature too much, but Rockstar has never let me down. I'm excited.

Multiple discs on 360 - probably. But only because of cutscenes an VO work I guess.

The entire map should be accessible from one disc.

So you will probably have to switch discs while playing through the game in SP, but you will be able to free roam from one disc later on.

There was a game that did that - I forgot which one it was.

L.A. Noire?
I really dislike switching discs... PS3 for me i guess then. how R* is showing the demos on PS3 is giving me confidence!

Nice.

Still so long to go man...ugh. And I just finished Vice City so no more GTA until after Summer =[

Thankfully some other interesting games are hitting in June. I've got nothing to play at the moment.

Did you play Metro last Light?

Because you should really play Metro Last Light.

I was going to but...this is going to sound so stupid...but those spider creatures almost gave me a panic attack. I have an irrational fear of spiders and most insects and I'm afraid it translates to games. That probably makes me sound crazy but they really freak me out.

My brother has a beast of a PC so I was at his place watching him play and we ran into one of those things and I almost fell out of my chair. I doubt I could make it through the game.

I couldn't even play Skyrim until I modded out all the spiders and those other insect enemies (can't remember their name). It's a little embarrassing :lol

Oh I´m with you there - Spiders are the worst.

They only occur in one or two sections in Metro though.

It´s a fantastic game and my GOTY so far.

Oh only a few sections? Hmm. Might be able to power through them then.

That was my issue in Skyrim. It seemed like the spiders showed up in every fucking dungeon :lol

I like certain DJs for certain reasons but Sage was pretty awesome. She had a strong personality and aired her opinions as well as introduced the music.

In other words, she was a proper DJ.

IV got too far away from that, IMO.

I'm just playing Lost and the Damned over again. HOW I WISH there were people online for races, or something :/

The Stubbs side missions are still so rad. I love the rapport he's got with Klebitz!

Me too.

Going from IV to TLAD is a night/day difference in vehicle and character handling.
The enemies are still bullet sponges and I find most of the characters to be unlikeable but it's much improved.

GTA V will be my first GTA ever and i'm genuinely hyped!

From what we've seen of this game,
do you guys think it's set to be the best GTA iteration?

This is madness! :D

It certainly seems like GTA 5 is shaping up to be fantastic and possibly will be the best of the 3D GTAs. But, of course, it's hard to beat nostalgia: I've spent countless hours in GTA 2 as well as Vice City, they are probably going to remain my favourites.

So.. about the GTA V PS4 version, when's it coming? Someone give me false hope, anything.

Realistically, expect it no earlier than the end of the first quarter of 2014. I've already accepted that I'm going to double-dip: PS3 version in the fall, PS4 GTA 5 whenever it is released to the wilds.

Absolutely looks like it. Why don't you look at GTA SA and VC for a little while to see why people like these games?

Wow, first GTA ever? I envy you.

I think it could very well be the best GTA yet. It seems like they're looking to combine the upbeat humour, fun and variety of the PS2 games, with the attention to detail and superior technology of their current gen games. World and mission improvements from Red Dead as well as their ability to create convincing wildnerness environments and the improved combat from Max Payne 3. We could have a hell of a game here.

Sometime in 2014 is my guess. Could happen at anytime I guess, but I don't see much of a reason to rush it.

To answer your question, yes.

I think this GTA will blend the best of two worlds, with the richness and variety in content and map of San Andreas, and the depth, detail and physics based systems of next gen R* stuff (GTA IV and RDR mainly).

How is this even possible? Whats stopping you from picking up GTAIV & expansions in the meantime?
I think he's better off just waiting for GTAV, the impact will be much bigger that way.
Besides, GTA IV was very experimental in many of its features, some of which didn't age super well.
