Gravity Rush 2 coming to NA, Gravity Rush Remastered is digital only

I support the campaign to get a physical release but no one is actually going to skip out on the title if it ends up being digital only right?

That seems a bit... much.
Hopefully not. While disappointing if people REALLY want to show support for Gravity Rush
or any other flop franchise tbh
and the only option for them is digital, well...

That doesn't mean you can't ask for a physical version tho =D

I don't spend more than $10 on digital-only titles, especially ones I already bought. I would've bought a physical copy, and I would have pre-ordered that Figma collector's edition. Digital only? Not even going to buy it on sale.

I'll just buy Gravity Rush 2 when it comes out. If SCEA wants to pull this shit again there, I'll just have to import it, but I'm not going to buy a digital copy.

I already have the DLC and the physical Vita release so I would skip it or wait till it's cheaper. I would buy it day one if there is a limited physical release just to have it on my collection.

This really seems like a pointless policy to adhere to. Even last gen, many quality digital-only games were priced beyond this arbitrary threshold. It sounds like you miss out on a lot of good games in the name of.. whatever this is.

I'll definitely buy the remaster regardless, but I will sign any major petition to get the game a physical release. This isn't a Yakuza case where a digital release is the only feasible option. I feel like having the remaster in stores would bode well for 2's prospects.

You can't have your cake and eat it. If you don't buy a digital GR1, don't expect a physical GR2.

I could be wrong but I'm going to assume GR1 Remastered's digital sales will have little to no bearing on the chances of a physical version of GR2 (which I would assume is going to happen in NA). The fact that GR1 is getting a digital-only release shows that SCEA already has a low amount of confidence in the game's sales potential.

For those who don't understand why some of us are very upset for not getting a physical release...... We don't care about digital only because we have our own reasons:

1- We like our games in physical forms
2- We are collectors
3- We like having options to buy our games in the form we prefer
4- We like to actually OWN our games and do whatever we wants with it like lending it to a friend or trading the game or selling it ect
5- We like to see the game reaches as much customers as possible because having both options of physical and digital releases = more potential buyers
6- We don't like being forced to go with one option only, what happened to #4theplayers

So if you don't mind buying your games digital or prefer it that way... Good for you, but still please understand that some other players like to buy their games physically and prefer it that way for their own reasons so don't try to make it as its not a big deal... Because to them ( and me ) it is... And it is a deal breaker.

Physical release or no buy.

----> I will get the EU version on disc.

You know this has already happened with this game in the past right? That the vita version was not going to get a physical version but people raised their voices enough to make them delay the game and put a physical print.

You know that, right?

What does that matter? When the game sold like it did (or rather, didn't) what makes you think they'd be inclined to repeat that? Doing the same over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

You know that, right?

So, the Asian version can be played in English, correct?

Asked on the last page, but I'm curious too. I'll import that or the PAL version. Will go with PAL if the Asian version isn't full English (text and voice), otherwise probably Asia because it will likely be cheaper.

They're not entitled to my money. If they want it, they should put the product out in a format I'll buy. Buying digital Gravity Rush shows that I'll just buy the game whatever format they come in, and I'm not down with that.

For what its worth, my Asian vita copy is in English so I would assume that the PS4 version will be the same.

Y'all are killing me. This is the wrong hill to die on.

I think it matter because of the possibility of it happening again.

That's also not the definition of insanity.

I dont buy anything digital at full price, I just dont see how its necessary especially for a game I have already played. However, once its sub 20 im ready to go on a digital game.

Then... why bother with Gravity Rush 2 in the first place then? At least I hope that they do a proper closure to the story in that game because I'm not confident that GR2 it's going to sell well. At all.

I mean, even Nintendo at least offered a physical version of Bayo1 with new copies of Bayo2 and that game bombed like no other.

What can I do to right this wrong? I'm about to throw a brick through SCEA's window with a note.

"Kat gets a physical edition or else!"

Sony just recently released Tearaway Unfolded which bombed as well and that had a physical edition.

Gravity Rush sold more than tearaway altogether on the vita. What make people think tearaway unfolded is a good example that gravity rush will bomb on ps4 as well? GR sold well on the vita and even after that, was on PS+ so that even more people got to play it. (This is a number out of my ass but) I would be willing to bet that 80% of vita owners also own a PS4.

Gravity Rush is more popular than tearway by a mile. It's not comparable imo. Hell, probably her appearance on PSASBR would help people identify with the game even if they haven't played it on the vita.

Eh? My point was that Sony sometimes DOES release physical editions of games that probably won't sell well.

I think the big difference with GR2 is that, with the exception of being a sequel to GR (a critically and commercially middling game), it has much less baggage to overcome.

It's not a repurposed PS3 game that was then made a Vita game that went on to not sell, probably mostly because the platform itself is a failure.

GR2 is a PS4 title first and foremost, it's already been a big feature in two conferences for them, simultaneously, and it's apparently a year out from launch, at most.

Keep perspective here: I'm not saying it's going to do gangbusters, because it's not. But I also don't think selling significantly better than GR1 is going to be an insurmountable challenge. (It'll probably be a better game, too.)

SCEA gonna SCEA! I am more sad about missing out on that Figma! Will it be available for purchase separately? Or will we get more pre-orders?

Speaking for myself, I already owned and platinumed the game on vita. Not getting something tangible does significantly reduce the value of this release for me, and I don't think it's that crazy.

If digital is the only way I can get a copy, like Yakuza 5 for example, that doesn't deter me from buying it. The special cirmustance here is that I already own and have beaten the game.

EDIT: Also, it sure as hell doesn't hurt that there's a nice CE in other regions.

Digital games are just rentals, you don't own them. I can still play my PS1 games I bought, doubt can say that of my digital PS3 games in 15 years.

Digital games aren't worth spending much money on, they're essentially throwaway.

because the game is still coming. You have a way to buy and play the game. You can even import the game physically. I just think this outrage is a bit much. Yea it's a remaster of a vita game. They didn't even have to go that far honestly. I'm not shocked it's not getting a physical release here.

So what? If folks want better, then they are free to demand it. Nothing at all will change if they stay silent on it. It doesn't effect you at all, so I don't get why you're going to bat for Sony on this.

looks like we're caught red handed, lets go leave so 5 star reviews for the nathan drake collection on amazon

You're free to work as unpaid PR for a multi billion dollar corporation if you wish. Nobody else has to just accept this if they don't want to and they're free to let Sony know how they feel.

Ratchet and Clank: Quest For Booty, Dark Souls Artorias of the Abyss/Prepare to Die Editions, Bloodborne Old Hunters/Game of the Year Editions, etc...and Gravity Rush all have this in common.

Physical elsewhere, screw USA.

Get a grip Sony.

inFAMOUS: First Light too. First and only game I've ever imported as a result, even knowing I was getting it as a Plus title down the line.

I wonder if GR1HD was given as a Plus title for the launch week if people would have as much an issue of being digital only. Making GR1HD a Plus title would benefit the title & give it great exposure so interest in the sequel would build.

Something was fishy about this from the start. I feared this would happen.

I'm happy Europe is getting it so everyone at least has the option to import.

this. physical will always have like 100 more benefits over digital. gotta be happy importing is so easy with ps4. could be much worse.

No one talk about the game itself?
Lunar style teleport gravity kick combo look awesome! Someone make a gif on that please. Oh, they use touch pad as style changing input, I hope they change that.

I don't get the outrage, but then I'm all digital anyway. I wonder if they'll do a discount thing for those who already own the Vita game on PSN.

Wait a minute.....

The Bloodborne GOTY Edition is NOT getting an NA release??? Seriously, WTF??? Sorry but that's fucking ridiculous.

As for Gravity Rush being digital only, it's a complete no thanks by me. Like another user posted, I have a $10 limit for digital games simply because good or bad, I don't think that they're worth more than that regardless of the game. They have no monetary or trade I value. It's another "tile" on a long list of tiles on the home screen. Main reason being if I end up disliking the game or simply not into it, at least I can look back and say, well, I gave it a chance, didn't like it or it wasn't for me but no biggie, it was only $10.

I spent way too much money last gen on digital only games and I stopped doing that this generation. There's games like Axiom Verge and Shovel Knight that I want to play and would be more than happy to spend $10 on them digitally but sorry, im not spending more than that on a game that quite honestly, I played back in the SNES era and only want to play it now due to nostalgia. If I do play them, great but if not, no biggie.

Gravity Rush 2 looks excellent but at the same time, also looks exactly the same as the original and all things considered, I personally think that Sony should delay the original and quite simply do a "double pack" where it's in a cardboard cover (think that RE collection that had three PS2 games in it) that contains the original and sequel in their own case for $60. That, I would buy for two reasons.

First, im getting both games and can play one right after the other and second, since I stopped collecting games two generations ago, I can trade it in once im finished with the games.

As if all the re-mastered games wasn't bad enough, what's even worse is when they're digital only. To me, it's just stupid. And if it's a money issue, then to be perfectly honest, don't fucking bother to begin with and develop something else and move on, period.

Unless this changes, two less games for me to have to buy and play. And that money can go towards a game that I want to play that gets released on disc.
