What is your favorite music and tracks from the Guilty Gear series?

Ramlethal theme, Diva of Despair is one of my favorite new theme in the series.
 
Two of my favorites:

Feel A Fear (which got #44)
Keep In Gates (which got #62)

I do not like Holy Orders (Be Just or Be Dead) as much as others.

Edit: Wait, actually I was looking at the totally wrong list. Neither of those songs I listed ranked.

In the top 5, I'm glad Blue Water Blue Sky, Awe Of She and Still in the Dark ranked.

Maybe it's because the game was crap?
 
I'm not completely against this list because Blue Water Blue Sky is at least in the top 5. Man, GG has to have one of the best collections of music for any fighting game series. So much variety across the years.

- Lily of Steel (best character theme in Xrd)
- Keep in Gates

- Meet Again
- Good Manners and Customs
- A Solitude that Asks for Nothing in Return
- Holy Orders

GG in general has incredible music.

diva is a great track. diva of despair is even better.

i know no one likes isuka or overture, but they've still got some incredible music.

These people know what's up. Both the X and XX versions are fantastic.
 
I'd have ranked Heavy Day a lot higher objectively, but the nostalgia factor is real. Holy Orders and Blue Water Blue Sky etc. are classic at this point.


Speaking of SOUND ALIVE, this track really popped in a live setting.
 
Isn't that mostly Xrd tracks?
Overall, I'd have put Midnight Carnival first. Good/interesting list.

Hell there isn't a single bad track on GGXX's OST, really. Not sure I get the love for Blue Water Blue Sky though, it's pretty tepid compared to most GG tracks.

Holy Orders gets too much love (probably because of that remix in Overture) and Feel a Fear gets to little. The world is unfair :(

Still gonna forever be a fan of the GGX Heavy Rock Tracks version of The Original.

Also have a soft spot for the GG2 Overture tracks, especially The Man. Still, can't really dislike the results.
 
Still in the Dark should be no1

I definitely agree. I'm really surprised how high it ranked. It's always been "that" song for me--as well as Burly Heart--that I simply don't care for and would rather not fight to. They're not awful, but they're just not exciting for me.

What did you think of Lily of Steel, if you've listened to it? I actually thought the majority of Xrd's character themes fell a bit flat. My ears didn't immediately perk up like I remember them doing for a lot of GGXX's (etc.) tracks. Lily of Steel was definitely the star and is probably my favorite theme in the game. Faust's is good, too (Destructive Goodwill), and both immediately stood out for me. Everything else seemed a bit like background noise for me. Not saying the OST's bad, though, because it's not--it's just that when a track I like plays, it's part of my fight experience. Everything else I hear but don't listen to, if that makes sense.

I try not to give up on stuff, though, so maybe down the line I'll gain new favorites.
 
Yeah Lily of Steel was pretty good, but if it's one of the better tracks, it might mean the Xrd soundtrack is inferior to GGXX...? I don't want to extrapolate too much though, I'll give the OST a spin one of these days. I haven't played the game, only seen the demo a bit and the music was a bit underwhelming -- not bad, just not mindblowing like GGXX was.
 
#1 and #3 on the list where the first songs I thought about when I saw the title. GG has probably some of my favorite songs ever even without the game aspect. Even for fighting game music, which is already good, GG has some of the most stand-out best music. Glad to see it get so much love.

As a fun song that deserves a mention"Holy Orders?".
 
Awe of She and Midnight Carnival are my favourites.

It's sad how little I like the music in Xrd compared to XX.
 
I always liked 'Drunkard Does Make Wise Remarks'. #38 spot? I'll take it.

'Blue Water Blue Sky' and 'Pride and Glory' (love the ragtime piano) are high up too for me, but there aren't really bad tracks in the franchise so I'm alright with whatever ranking :P

This song is one of the best, it's simply Holy Orders with the distortion turned way up.

Edit-The theme of That Man is one of my favorites as well.
 
Suck a Sage is the best. GGX2 has one of the best soundtracks in gaming, so many of the themes perfectly fit the characters.

My man! (I'm biased since Anji is my main in AC+)

Holy Orders was expected, I always switch to that in Training Mode.

"Awe of She" is such a great name for a track (and it's not half-bad itself, spent half my time in AC+ fighting my mate's Dizzy).
