So it will be a steam machine title and on ps6 (if at all) Any reasoning for that thought?
I tried to play HL2 and I was not really impressed. Felt like it fall out of time. Not sure why it is so loved. Must be nostalgia at work. I'm not saying it is a bad game, I just do not see it as a system mover.
Maybe I'm wrong. It was before my time (as a gamer)
Sure playing HL1 and HL2 today is nothing special. Back when they released they were titans, they really pushed the genre forward and I think both totally holds up today (which can't be said for that many games of that age).So it will be a steam machine title and on ps6 (if at all) Any reasoning for that thought?

Is that the mod that takes place in a desert and has that super weird ass synchronization of Russians speaking English? Or am I confusing something?I can also recommend Entropy Zero 2
I couldn't care less
I don't remember any desert. Maybe you mean the first one? This one is essentially set in urban environments and you play as a Combine soldier. Is that the mod that takes place in a desert and has that super weird ass synchronization of Russians speaking English? Or am I confusing something?
I loved that Wallace and Gromit short. What if the moon was made of cheese?
Discuss.
I am still disappointed that neither Super Mario Galaxy 1 nor Galaxy 2 had a cheese-moon level where you play as Mouser. What if the moon was made of cheese?
Gabe Newell crossed the polished deck of his sprawling yacht with the unhurried confidence of someone who had spent a lifetime steering both storms and billion-dollar ideas. The water was calm, the engines a muted hum beneath him, yet his focus was elsewhere. Today wasn't about leisure. There's a rumor it's going to be revealed Tuesday, but then I realize, if it's a Steam exclusive, what's to stop them from simply RELEASING it?
Can you imagine that? I kinda want them to, at the same time, it's been a long time since I've played the originals, ideally I'd want to go back and replay all of them first, but just imagine if Half-Life 3's release is only days away.
Alright, I'll admit it. I don't care much about playing it myself, but I'm genuinely interested in the impact it could have on the industryOf course you could! You cared enough to pop into this thread and drop a comment. It means you care a little bit
Anyway, if HL3 is real then it launches with the Steam Machine in early 2026.
Maybe, but it wasn't the year before, so that's the difference.Fear 1 released one year after hl 2 and imo it was a whole league ahead.
You get what you pay for. What If It runs only at 30 fps in the gabe cube?
Half-Life 3 is not that big of a deal.
If it comes out, it will be like a 10 hour game that people will forget about in a weekend and go back to DOTA 2.
It's not 2005 anymore.
I wouldn't want the low spec hardware in the steam machine to hold back HL3 from pushing tech. Imagine if that was their target hardware and primarily optimized for it, wouldn't bode well for the game imho. They would also aim for at least 60 FPS since noone wants to play a shooter at 30 FPS lock.I want 1 of 2 funny situations to occur:
1. Half life 3 is exclusive to the Steam machine and Steam frame for at least 6 months.
2. Half life 3 is too demanding to run on the Steam machine.
Either one will crack me up.
Watch the HL: Alyx ending to find out why people care so much. They didn't even finish HL2, why would I care about HL3, especially after all these years?
So, the question still remainsThis is banneable... please both be careful with what you say next time
What exactly is shadow dropping?
Probably thats what gonna hapen2. Half life 3 is too demanding to run on the Steam machine.
if you dont know why are talking about or think that doesn't exist?I would love Half Life 3, but I have a feeling it doesn't even exist. Not sure how the rumors started.
Yeah it could easily be that the HL Alyx guy (Robin Walker) got given infinite trust after that project and has been building HL3 since thenif you dont know why are talking about or think that doesn't exist?
By tech you mean moar pixelz , right? Because that is what 99% of better tech is used for, and that is why F.E.A.R. which came out in 2005 has better enemy AI than games today.I wouldn't want the low spec hardware in the steam machine to hold back HL3 from pushing tech.

If the game "only" has good gameplay, i'm sure most fans will be disappointed after such a long time.
I mean if you take the best parts of Dishonored and Dishonored 2 then you have a pretty worthy sequel to HL2 in terms of art direction and level designStill shocks me playing HL2. Shows how shitty modern devs are. That game had vibes and felt like a piece of art. We're still trying to catch up to 2004.
