guys... what if Valve shadow drops Half-Life 3?

I mean if you take the best parts of Dishonored and Dishonored 2 then you have a pretty worthy sequel to HL2 in terms of art direction and level design

I kind of agree, but its insane with have to piece together much newer AAA games just to equal HL2. Even still with its pacing issues.

OP, you couldn't have just made a post in one of these currently active threads?

But HL2's community VR mod, if you have anything to play it on, is one of the absolute best experiences on the entire gaming market today... and I mean even if you have zero nostalgia or interest in retro gaming, it's still better than 99% of what is out there.
Might try that out. VR FPS just don't impress me that much anymore since they all feel largely the same.

How can you call it a shadow drop when we know it comes out the same day as the Steam Machine and Steam Frame?

The real bummer is that it's going to be locked behind arm processor support so it won't run on anything but arm powered devices.
The first episode is free to start, with each additional level releasing at $1.99 USD or you get the level content for free with the purchase of cosmetic packs.
I'm just taking the piss folks....HL3 isn't coming out at all.

I could see it happening. Valve's game publishing seems to be more a side gig these days and steam has made Gabe a literal billionaire, so casually dropping HL3 would not be a big deal for them. The name itself and the likely long tail of the game sales (assuming it's good) kind of negate the need for building hype with a release date, trailers, etc.

If Half Life 3 releases, I bet so soo many people are gonna point out that its graphics looks bad.
I learned my lesson when people say Elden Ring looks so bad.

As long as it comes but it can't be for VR only if it truly wants to be a big game cause more than 90% of it's sales are going to come from non VR users. Make like RE7 that people can play in both VR and normal mode.

A full game with the Alyx goldsource 2 engine would 100% be how it'll look as it's a huge upgrade over the original Half Life 2 and Alyx still looks amazing even today.

The Alyx engine seems to have bought back more of the nice vibrant colors of Half 1 which is a huge plus as Half Life 1 was always better than Half Life 2 style wise.
