It's not working for a friend of mine - he got the glitched Map Pack. It's saying "unable to validate - please make sure you are connected to Xbox live and have the War Games pass downloaded" and then he gets a "required content missing" error on the Crimson DLC.

Played for a good 6 hours today and left wanting more. Avoid BTB and you're good to go. Loving the thruster pack, the one AA that I feel enhances gameplay and is a worthy addition to Halo. I enjoyed the play session because I mostly played Haven and Adrift, good old fashioned small Halo maps... which brings me to the DLC
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. People should know better than to pay actual money for content they know nothing about, way in advance. As a consumer I feel incredibly vindicated in my decision not to purchase the war games pass; I can vote with my wallet and not reward the nonsensical decision to include three BTB sized maps in a game which already has a skewed abundance of BTB maps. I wanted and expected small maps in the first DLC pack; I didn't get small maps so they don't get my money. If I pay, what does the studio learn? So long as folks keep spending money on trash, they'll happily keep serving up trash and charge you for it (talking more about armours, skins, and LE content here).
To me, the Crimson pack looks like a load of brown rocks, white pre fab buildings and gameplay damaging sunlight glare, stretched to BTB size and washed down with a duckshit green filter. Maybe there's less incentive to try when people (LE/war games pass owners) have already put the money down?

A guy in the H4 thread didn't have access to the free map pack until he redeemed the code he received from MS. I've spent $0 on H4 and just got it for free through the same promo.

1. Redemption code "already used" notice when trying to enter it, tried 3 times to make sure of correctness.
2. Check map pack from games browsing > add ons. It says don't buy it here as you'll be charged again...go away looking for LE method to download map pack.
3. Look on Xbox Live support site, find one page about go to download history due to point 1 reason. Map pack is not listed in download history.
4. Try redemption code from LE and it fails again with "already used".
5. Call xbox live support, get no help apart from above once again.
6. Go to games > add ons out of desperation from wasting my time for 25 mins.
7. Click "Confirm Download" and waste 800 MS points without any avenue or posts on Waypoint or Xbox sites about this issue.
8. Fear the exact same thing is going to happen for the next two map packs.
UGH, I've been looking the other way for the series of bugs and missing features but overall there has to be a major step up in testing and decision making over at 343i. Hate to add to the team downer in this thread but if a company fucks up repeatedly they're going to be called on it.
I'll give the maps a chance but my first thoughts were more large maps...really where are the small maps and what happened to 4v4 Halo tradition? Bring back small maps and 4v4 and I think we'll see far more population from that alone.

I tried multiple avenues, used the methods on the LE card for redemption, called XBL support and out of sheer wasting my time clicked the confirm download hoping it wasn't confirm purchase. Normally for movies or anything else when you buy something it says "confirm purchase" NOT "confirm download".
Also this was the ONLY place to even view the download, so what choice did I have? I exhausted every avenue possible and frankly 30 mins of my time is worth more than 800MS points if that happened. Well it happened.
Now I want to raise the issue so the next two maps packs download as part of the LE as promised.

Still a poor example, because they didn't even realize that spawning with a dual wieldable weapon like the SMG would change the game; changing it so far and away from Halo 1 to Halo 2. The Halo 2 to 3 transition was much more similar, but the random BR spread rendered long range battles frustrating.

Is there a change log somewhere for the latest title update?
One thing I always found odd was on launch day when I entered my LE codes there was no notification in game or anywhere that I was indeed a season pass owner. Something just seemed off. With Gears 3 it was 100% obvious you were a season pass owner. So even though I have the maps downloaded I'm not sure if its because I am indeed a season pass owner or because they are still free to the masses. The areas of this game that MS and 343 decided to "half ass" are just utterly mind boggling.
