uuuuunnnnnnngh. Buying a Halo 2 vista copy soon.

Moving further away from that beautiful MP gameplay is the right thing to do and the direction in which the franchise needs to go to evolve. Trust.
At this point, 343 just needs to accept that we don't want evolution, we want regression..............back to Halo 2

*has never played Halo 2 multiplayer

I made it, someone requested me to make it. So yes I know it doesn't.
Figured as much. Just giving you a hard time.

lol I would presume a beta playlist would work as before. 3 maps to choose from.

You didn't see that kind of voting screen in the early Bungie community playlists.

I just don't think the community will support a playlist like that again.
Well if it were to happen then there needs to be only 1 gametype, or every voting option needs to be the same gametype. The TU/Vanilla vote was a joke because of this.

But why the insistence that there even needs to be a whole bunch of community maps in a playlist?

I don't buy that.
Why else did everyone move to Halo 3 from Halo 2, and to Reach from H3?
Even though each one of those transitions was arguably a downgrade.

We want evolution, just the evolution thus far has not been good.
Because they were newer and prettier. Same reason people jump for one cod to another, from one sports game to another.

I agree, but then like I mentioned before, you're going to limit the community maps in MM to one gametype. Great maps designed for other gametypes will be instantly forgotten. And if it's 4v4 slayer, what about BTB? What about 5v5 objective? Invasion?

But why the insistence that there even needs to be a whole bunch of community maps in a playlist?
Do you mean why would there need to be a community beta playlist or why does 343/Bungie insist on adding community maps to any playlist? I can't answer the second question for you. (Other than they're just trying to appreciate all of the Forge focused communities by giving them a reachable goal). We're just trying to help when we're asked to.

I'll leave the discussion again with this: the system as it is- is poor and could be better. It's not the fault of the Cartographers, it's the fault of whoever is in charge of the system. It really leaves me worried for Halo 4, since they aren't doing anything to improve it.

I'd prefer taking any blame over 343, honestly. They do a LOT on their free time... Stuff that isn't part of their job description. Just because they want to. Now I can't tell you I know about everything they do or what they're supposed to be doing because I don't know. I just know they spend a lot of their free time helping forge communities out.

That and I'd imagine halo 4 is the focus of the studio.

Honestly I wouldn't put major stock in how 343 has handled cartographer support for Reach; if I was 343 it would just focus on Halo 4, for them to have continued the support for Reach is already a phenomenal effort.

That's how I look at it, Bungie left the fans dry and 343i fixed some serious issues with the game. At this point just focus on H4.

Enough of Halo 2 Vista for now... it was fun though. We need to play it some more some day, preferrably with a bit more people.
Gotta let my laptop rest a bit, nearly overheating... H2V is not kind on the hardware.

I would love to play Halo 2 Vista, my computer seems to really struggle to run it though. Which is weird because other games that seem similar seem to run better. :/

Sorry Elzar got distracted, what was the conversation out of sheer curiosity though?
