Anyway, Iwata said some months ago that when Third Parties would have understood that Wii effectively was not a fad, they would have shifted their resources to develop Wii games.
Probably Iwata will still wait for loong time...

Because the GTA4 release was this massive media circus, with all the "biggest entertainment launch ever" and "Iron Man will do poorly at the box office because of GTA4" stuff. Mario Kart was just released as a game to buy and play and it probably sold ~33% of GTA4.

well if you look at it that way thats not bad huh. profits from wii/ps2 funding next gen developement? not bad at all. sony and ms still need to pick it the hell up.

The point is if I told you after San Andreas that the next GTA on playstation would have been 3rd in the NPD you'd have laughed your arse off at me,

The userbase excuse is wearing thin, if Userbase was the all that mattered PS2 games would dominate the charts
 
It's pretty crazy to think that Nintendo probably won't have to drop the price of the Wii this year, just like last year. It might happen at the end of the summer if sales start to drop.

Yup, they did the smart thing and switched to DS. Crapload of awesome games being announced for that daily! And their development budgets can be even less than PS2's, which helps compensate for the shrinking hardcore market! What could possibly go wrong?

The future looks rosy if you're a DS owner (which you damn well should be if you're the type of gamer who has ever enjoyed japanese gaming).

I'd go as far to say gaming in general. Not all genres can be represented equally on the system but it really does have such wonderful software.

1) The 5 day thing is not running thin,

2) Userbase did not reflect in PS2 game sales at 100+ million, because the composition of the userbase was not all core gamers. It was already mainstream.

Between 360 and PS3, they share similar userbases (if anything, PS3 has more Blu-ray only people), therefore game sales are directly proportional to the userbases.

188k 360s sold + MS's insistence that they sold more than Sony = ultra meltdown incoming.
 
Holy shit this IS a megaton. I actually said "holy shit" out loud. Just... wow. 188k 360s? Even fewer PS3s? No wonder Nintendo didn't brag about beating their combined sales...
