Has any PS4/XB1 game really blown you away?

Sunset Overdrive (XB1)
Forza Horizon 2 (XB1)
Ryse (XB1)
CoD: AW (XB1)
GTA V Remastered (PS4)
The Evil Within (PS4)
P.T (PS4)

I would put Second Son but man, the city felt so dead.

So far only Ryse, PT, Call of Duty:AW, and Rayman Legends are the only games that have blew my mind so far. Too bad the only one I enjoyed game play wise was Rayman.

Ryse did as it really did make that same graphical impression that Gears 1 did. I still havent seen a game yet that looked THAT good.

Forza Horizon 2 did as well. Everything from the music to the presentation and how great it looked left a mark on me

The ship battles in assassins creed black flag also blew me away.

Share Play, Remote Play, Share Factory, and Snap have all defined next gen for me so far outside of specific titles. I don't use it much, but voice control for both systems is pretty cool. Works marginally better and more intuitively on the One, but it's cool either way.

I'm talking MGS2/Halo/Gears/Uncharted level. For me Second Son came close, great game but not quite there yet. I'm still waiting on that game that really pushes the PS4 with something that really wows me. I'm holing out hope that The Order, Bloodborne or Uncharted 4 does it.

second son was amazing but certainly had issues that held it back from being truly great...if this gets a sequel i can see a lot of these issues being fixed though as the engine will have already be created they can work on fixing other issues

PT is the only one that has made me go "woah". In a dim room with headphones I was having an experience I had never had before. It felt real and scared me to my core.

Well, like Uncharted 2 did when I first played it on PS3, no.

But I was very impressed with those titles so far, graphically speaking:
-inFamous Second Son
-Killzone Shadow Fall
-Ryse
-Forza Horizon 2

Ps.: The list is not in preference order, btw.

NBA 2K14/15 and DRIVECLUB are two immediate standouts for me in terms of visuals. I think parts of SS are really impressive. Rainy Seattle, all those lights glowing, and then infinite neon running across the city...just out of this world impressive.

For me it was Battlefield. The whole 64 player thing, the sounds and whole changeable maps with building's collapsing made me think yes this is next gen.

Infamous looks really, really nice, and I've had a ton of fun with Sunset Overdrive/Forza Horzions 2, but saying these things have blown me away would definitely be pushing it.

Do trailers count? Because FFXV is already blowing me away. XD

Out of released games though, only Infamous and P.T. for now. Shadow of Mordor has some pretty crazy details as well.

Driveclub, PT, Infamous.

Ryse looks insane, haven't had a chance to play that one yet.

And I'm still waiting on Deep Down, please Capcom I need this :(

DriveClub, Unity, Resogun and the lantern district in Infamous really stand out, though the cityscape you see during gameplay in that building in Killzone may be the biggest and first wow, but Unity, man that looks great. Loved the upgraded seas in Black Flag too.

The thing that really blew me away in a technical standpoint is the Kinect Spors avatar generator. I'm still amazed how it can generate good looking characters in a stylized design, and still let you recognize instantly the original owner. When my avatar uses face expressions that I use too, it's really "me", while not being me.
I would have liked to add Titanfall too but I'm not sure it "blew me away" in the sense of a generation leap, it's "only" a great game (one of the best I ever played), and it's purely based on game design.

As a whole, not really. There have been games which have had their moments, and FF XIV is definitely beautiful, but there's nothing which has made me think the PS4 has really arrived yet.

EDIT: Actually, somebody above mentioned PT, that freaked me out so badly I think it's fair to say that was a really effective use of the hardware, though I'm too scared to ever touch the main game now so I don't know if "blown away" is the right term.

gameplay-wise?

definitely - SSO & TF have really taken "locomotion" in gaming to the next generation like nothing before.

graphics-wise?

nah - most underwhelming generational transition thus far, but i'm none too bothered, and fully expect this generation to last much less time than the last.

Far Cry 4 and Unity. The best looking games out on console in my opinion regardless of Ubis messed up shit they've been pulling.

They are both gorgeous.

Horizon 2 because of the image quality and general stability of the game.

GTA V XB1 because of the details. Like the oil pressure and temp gauges inside the cars actually functioning. The detail on the guns, as well.

Zombi U because of the rad ways to use the gamepad.

As far as graphics?
Alien Isolation (PS4) So real!
Battlefield 4 (PS4)
TLOU (PS4) - Incredible art direction
Infamous Second Son (PS4)
Watch Dogs (PS4) - Can look photo reaistic at times its scary

And the big one

AC Unity (PS4) - Though I found the gameplay average and boring after a bit, the graphics, texture detail, lighting, art direction and overall detail in this game is absolutely mind blowing insane. It litterally looks like real life at times. No wonder the game runs @ the framerate it does on PS4, those tiny CPUs are getting overloaded. :D

Gameplay wise - 'blown away' standards
TLOU - really needs no expanation - Masterpiece
Alien isolation - amazing atmosphere and they nailed the Alien environment, tension. Incredible experience.

There are 'great' games out there but those 2 fit the 'blown away' category :D

I have yet to play Far Cry 4 or Dragon Inquisition yet.

A few Xbox One games that I played this year (Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, Forza Horizon 2, and Sunset Overdrive) have been extremely pleasant surprises, and even better than what I had anticipated. I don't know if any of them has "blown me away", but they're all amazing, and each of them has made me very, very happy.

Last of Us Remastered

This is so sad. Improved framerate, resolution and texture size seem to define next gen for so many. And that with GTA V really showing how much more a next gen remaster can do (and ACU what a real next gen game can aim for and will sure reach this gen).

Killzone SF and especially Infamous SS was a real "This is NextGen graphics I was waiting for" moment for me.

Definitely Killzone. One of the best looking shooters I've played to date, honestly. inFamous is also very impressive.

I can't lie. None. Not that I don't appreciate the step up to 1080p and upgraded visuals, especially noticeable with last gen ports like GTAV, but in terms of a game on the PS4 that I will still be replaying by the time PS5 comes out? No, none.

But then again, the PS2 or PS3 didn't have any titles like that for me by this stage. I expect the gears for this gen are going to truly start rolling with the early 2015 releases. The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, The Order 1886, The Witness (hopefully) and FFXV demo, are all pure next-gen games which a lot of this holiday's lineup isn't. If we compare it to the PS2's timeframe it's roughly when I started playing GTA3 and on PS3 MGS4, both solid titles.

But for me personally, the games I'm really waiting on are MGSV, Uncharted 4, FFXV and Persona 5.

I guess resogun, but that feels so long ago now. Since then, not much. I thought the whole PT reveal thing was really really cool, but that's more of a news thing and not a playing thing (I did think the demo was cool, but I couldn't play it for very long because I am a coward)

I've never been "blown away" by graphics. If something looks good it's nice, but a good art style and interesting mechanics or design are far more important.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the level design in Dragon Age. The Hinterlands are actually...hilly. There's slopes and difficult to traverse sections, not like most games with bumps on an essentially flat surface. Nice to move around in.

P.T. looks excellent and I love what Housemarque achieved with Resogun and its particle effects. Ground Zeroes looks great as well but you can clearly see its cross-gen illness. Other than that though..? Not so much.

Killzone Shadowfall didn't feel coherent to me, and after playing Crysis 3 on PC I was not all that impressed with it. Battlefield 4 looks almost exactly like Battlefield 3 to me. Unfortunately I have not even seen a Xbox One or a game running on it yet other than YouTube videos, so I can't comment on that.

I'm still waiting for my Gears Of War moment. The feeling of playing the game on the Xbox 360 and just not comprehending that something so good-looking runs on that machine was fantastict. From the looks of it, I think Naughty Dog could cause such a moment with Uncharted 4 if the teaser is any indication.

In graphics, Yes. Killzone looked amazing for a launch game. Infamous looked good too.
Cod AW looks great. Driveclub is impressive. But fails to really BLOW you away.

But as always, our minds aren't that great at remebering graphics and stuff.
People will always feel it's a small upgrade.

In gameplay? Not really. They're still just games like last gen. But with extra immersion through different upgrades.

In level design, i'd say Wolfenstein and Pikmin 3 are really great in a gameplay kind of way.
