What files did he modify? All he did was move a folder from one drive to another. This is a fairly common thing on PC.You deserve the ban for modifying files, that's what hackers usually do to bypass their anti cheat system.

Yeah, I highly doubt thats all he did. What files did he modify? All he did was move a folder from one drive to another. This is a fairly common thing on PC.
Is 2FA required now or something?I can't even create a new account because my number is already linked to my banned account.
OP mentioned they were using a product called Primocache to load the files from memory. That's probably what did it.What files did he modify? All he did was move a folder from one drive to another. This is a fairly common thing on PC.
Assuming what OP said is legit of course. Other people in this thread say others have experienced the same thing.Yeah, I highly doubt thats all he did.
"No reason".OP mentioned they were using a product called Primocache to load the files from memory. That's probably what did it.
Is this your origin story of how you got into PC gaming? You could try, but you wouldn't be successful. I imagine that their EULA / Terms of Service specifically state that they can revoke access at any time for any reason.
I tried this once, as back in the early 360 days my Xbox account got unjustly banned and I lost access to my purchased content - about $1,000 worth of digital games and DLC. It took several years and eventually went to arbitration (as was part of their clause). I was asking for either a refund of all digital purchases, or the account be reinstated. The arbitrator struck it down because their EULA had specific language about Microsoft having the ability to remove access to digital content. Sucks but it is what it is.
Oh, I missed that. Never heard of it but I guess that would be a red flag of some kind on Activision's end.OP mentioned they were using a product called Primocache to load the files from memory. That's probably what did it.
I once knew someone who's boyfriend was pulled out of his parked car by the cops and given 18 months in prison for doing nothing. He was just parked on the side of the road with his window down giving people little ziplock baggies of rock candy (for a small donation). 18 months for that, can you believe it?That's the same as me !
A few days ago, I was caught for speeding for no reason.
I've been gaming off and on with PCs since the 80s. But that was definitely the thing that pushed me away from consoles for the PS3 / Xbox 360 era and a good part of the PS4 / Xbox One early gen.Is this your origin story of how you got into PC gaming?
Thankfully I still have the ability to play blizzard games like overwatch.Did they nuke your entire battle.net account or just access to those COD games?
That's fucked up, but best practices aren't to just copy paste your shit around and then running a fixer through the installer; you should always uninstall an application and reinstall it if you're switching drives unless you're dealing with a specifically portable executableI was banned two days ago from Activision, allegedly because I manipulated the game data.

All I did that day was copy the battle.net folder from a disk to another. When I tried to play the game, the game crashed on the title screen 2x and I use the launcher option for repair data.
After that, I was banned.
I'm trying to make sense of what happened, but the best I can come up with is...
I was using the Primocache trial to speed up my HDD. Maybe Activion saw the game data been read from RAM because of the L1 cache of the software, I want to appeal but after my first attempt they won't give me any other chance to explain.
Now I lost all my purchases, my progression and I can't even create a new account because my number is already linked to my banned account.
Now I'm trying to decide the best course of action, should I try to sue them? There is another way?
Repeat after me: Separate account for every fn digital game.I was banned two days ago from Activision, allegedly because I manipulated the game data.

should I try to sue them?
So a little backstory.
I originally had my gamertag as ButtSmasher about 4 years ago. It got flagged for being inappropriate so they made me change it. They let me do so free of charge and I ended up just adding an R to it and had the name ButtSmasherr. Same thing happened not to long after and I did the same thing and added another r leaving me with the name ButtSmasherrr. I haven't had any problems since then. It's been over 3 years.
Then today I log on to play Gears after not really touching my Xbox for about a month and my name is now FaintColt388301. I tried to change it because that name is dumb and they want me to pay $9.99 in order to do so.
I can understand that my name might have been inappropriate and why they would make me change it but to have to pay $10 in order to do so is pretty dumb. Is there anything I can do ot has anybody else had the same problem?

To be fair, so much of this stuff is automated now and is never seen by a real person. Mistakes can and do happen.I love how everyone who gets banned from COD was for "no reason."
OP they did you a favor!I was banned two days ago from Activision, allegedly because I manipulated the game data.
For some reason, I have always read your user name as Spunk, and now hearing about the Buttsmasher name of old, my visions of you have turned rather. So a little backstory.

Because all-digital is easy to manage.wow and this is why an all digital future is not good.
How do people not see this!
Yes, you should absolutely sue them straight away, for everything they own.Now I'm trying to decide the best course of action, should I try to sue them?
pc gaming has been pretty much all digital for over a decade after lord gaben saved it. what are people supposed to do about it?wow and this is why an all digital future is not good.

The last time someone complained on NeoGaf for being banned, it turned out they were exposing themselves in Uno on XBL.
