I hope that fucking screw doesn't strip so easily this time.
Ha ha! Thats amazing! PS themed screws, very nice touch!
Also closest we've got to a look behind the plastic shell, very cool its simply the black glossy part you take (Slide?) off to replace the HDD, really admire the PS4 console design the more and more I see more of it, not so surprising though considering the amount of hardware Sony makes.
I have to say too, PS4 stripdown! Yes! Would love to see how everything is organized inside!
There won't be a stripdown until after launch. I'm sure all that paperwork in the unboxing video explains that all that sort of stuff isn't allowed.
They wrote that they're gonna take a closer look inside the PS4 tomorrow.
Take off the panel and "FOXCONN" staring you in the face. Spray some luminol on it and see the bloody fingerprints from assembly!
First reply nails it, yet again.DAT SCREW :O
They should sell custom designed versions of that bit that lifts off.
I'd buy one that isn't glossy and matched the rest of the console.
Jury is still out on whether 15mm drives will fit.

$61.31 Eur for just ONE screw? Isn't that like $80 US dollars...the hell!
Did hard drives go up price? That thing is like $125 after shipping, I could have sworn someone linked me to 1 TB HDD for like $70 off Amazon like 6 months ago that I bought that still works great in one of my PS3.

Assuming it's 5400 drive, does anyone think there'd be a heat issue if I tossed in a 7200? Anyone try this with a PS3?

Looks like dude is getting sick boner.
I've always read that 7200 rpm drives could overheat the PS3. I'm ordering a 5400 to be on the safe side.
I've got a 5400rpm 1GB HDD in my PS3.
Could I take that out, and put it in my PS4? Then take the 500GB one from the PS4, and put that in my PS3?
Assuming PS4 is 5400rpm again.
You really don't have to worry about that, the heat difference is minimal.
Yeah it should work. A 2.5" SATA drive that has a max height of 9.55mm should fit in the HDD caddy. Anything above a 9.55mm height might have issues fitting into the caddy so you want to avoid purchasing one before we get confirmation for the max height that will fit in.This one will work, right? I know they have to be 2.5'' but I don't know about the other specs. HDDs are kind of foreign to me.

Omg, this means customisable panels
Good to know. But I'm looking on Amazon and I can't find a 1TB 7200 drive. I prefer Western Digital and the largest 7200 I can't find is only 750GB.

Here you go. Got one of these at home, waiting for 11-15.
That FOXCONN is making me uncomfortable.
Formerly Hitachi, now owned by Western Digital. Thanks! I'm not familiar with this brand, I'll read through the reviews.
