Other services offer a free 360 game $60 value for a True.com trial. This one is kind of a rip off in comparison but whatever.

I'll do this when someone confirms that True.com won't need a credit card/billing information for the trial period. Just in case there's a "delay" especially with the weekend coming up.

Uh yea, they do. But they have a 7 day free trial which gives some breathing room?

But it'll take 3, maybe 4 days for Xbox360Achiever to know. And 3 days from now is a weekend so tack on 2 more days. Five days out of seven is cutting it a bit close for me, especially when giving my credit card number to a shady dating service.

exactly. Something tells me that you're either not getting the 1600 points or you're going to get billed for a month. Good luck getting the money back if that's the case.

Here's the thing, cancel before the 7th day and the worst thing that happens is you get no marketplace points. You have a better chance of getting something than nothing as long as you try for it, dude.

eh, apparently you have to cancel over the phone. that can be a hassle. i guess i'll have to live without those saint's row picture packs somehow :(

"Thank you sir, your cancellation request has been received and will take approximately 7 days to process. Thank you for trying true.com."

Fixed.

I signed up for the free 7 days, then suspended my account (adds x number of free days), then agreed to another free 7 days to renew my account or whatever. I supposedly won't be charged until October 20th or something like that which should give me plenty of time to cancel.

Hmm? Verizon points? Care to share?

Remember those free gold XBL weekends sponsored by Verizon? They also gave out 1,000,000 points out during those time periods. The 2nd time they sponsored a free weekend, the free points website was down for like 48 hours. It was nuts

I'm waiting until my G/F goes to work to call up True.com and cancel though. Certainly not a conversation I want her to accidentally overhear. So I'll let you guys know if they give me any shit about it.

If they insist on me providing a reason for cancellation, I'm going to tell them I am actually married, and that my concience got the best of me and I wanted to cancel. Let's see them argue with that...

So this is a lame duck deal I'm guessing? If it takes over a week to even ship it out...

And how'd you wrangle more than 500 points from Verizon? Wasn't that connected to your xbox? Dammit, now that I think about it it was live account, wasn't it?

I always tell them that I'm in college and hell--I just wanted to check it out. I don't have any money anyway, suckers!

Also I just got my email this morning, two days later.

No... I got my confirmation that they're sending my points, LONG before the 7 day free trial is up. Looks like it's going to work, unless True pulls some trickery when I call them.

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?
Signed up. So, what's good on XBLA and only costs 1600 points?

The cancellation chick was cracking me up.

She goes: "It says here that you are separated. Is that still true or has it been finalized?"

Me: "I didn't even fill out any of the information, I just kept hitting next until it was over."

Her: "But it says here you are separated. Has that been finalized?"'

That's when I lost my temper a bit and she didn't ask anymore questions. Now give me my points!

tedtropy

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

Alright, I'm giving this a shot. If I get mystery charges on my credit card, I'll be forced to punt some puppies.

so i came home today and checked my mail and i already got 'winks' from 4 chicks... :lol :lol :lol

to bad i will never respond, my fiance wouldn't like that!

I received an email last Saturday that said my XBL points card will be shipped within 14 days. I went to cancel my account today (It runs out today, or so I thought), and was told that it was extended for free (I also verified this online) until Nov. 4th. So I'm going to keep the account open until the free card (hopefully) arrives in another week or two.

If anyone has trouble with canceling True.com, just do what I did and tell them you just found out you have Terminal Cancer and don't have long and would just prefer to spend it alone.

Cancellation taken care of in no time.

No, it doesn't charge you at all but sometimes you'll see $1 pending. That pending $1 won't actually turn into a charge, it'll just disappear after a day - its just to check if you gave them a valid credit card number.
