Hogwarts, ffxvi, totk, sm2

In retrospect was it worth it... ehhhhh, yes because they served their purposes of being entertainment and escapism, but was it as good as years prior? Absolutely not. Doesn't mean "Wait for sales" but more just that modern gaming is getting pretty stale.

Here's to hoping 2024 actually delivers something interesting

Last full priced game I got was Cyberpunk in 2020. I got a miniscule preorder discount and a sweet steelbook case. The game ran like butt in the driving portions on my one x and I bought a series just for this game...

Armored Core VI - Awesome
Final Fantasy XVI DE - Still playing but pretty good
Spider-Man 2 - 'Amazing' most of the time
Horizon Call of the Mountain - Incredible, but I still have to get my VR legs to finish it...

Dead Island 2 is the only game I bought day 1 and therefore for the full price iirc. It was like 55€ or so for the physical uncut edition.

Around 5-6, more than usual because I joined the hype train on several releases I've been waiting to play for several years. At least 2 of them (Forza & Alan Wake 2) ended up being disappointments unfortunately.

What an incredible year it's been for all gamers. I've absolutely LOVED every single game I've paid full price for at launch this year:

Hogwarts
Metroid Prime
Jedi Survivor
Tears of the Kingdom
Age of Wonders 4
EA PGA Tour
Super Mega Baseball 4
Baldur's Gate 3
Crew Motorfest
Spiderman 2
Talos Principle 2

I'll be playing Avatar next week as well

Gamepass games I would've bought at launch:

Starfield
Forza Motorsport
Age of Empires 2 & 4

Switch:
Fire emblem, advanced wars, metroid prime, Zelda totk, smb wonder, Mario rpg, red dead , Gothic 1 and 2, steam world build

PS5: Final Fantasy 16, Re4re, Robocop, Diablo4.

PC: cities skylines 2, Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield

Wow that's 17 full prices games, plus many many on sale like Hogwarts legacy.

I spend a lot on games for someone who only gets maybe 5 hours a week on a TV. Pc I can play city builders or strategy while I work.

I chose 7-10, but it’s defo more than that if I add PSVR2 games as well, but they don’t fall into the same price catagory.

Off the top of my head: SM2, BG3, TOTK, Hogwarts, AW2, RE4 remake, FF16.

None, I think. The only game I bought at release was Sonic Superstars and even that was physical for around $40.
